I have one word for your condition-Paranoia. I use my primary email address in Usenet and have only ever seen one virus come from
that direction, which because I'm a slightly mature user and I had "Show file extensions" enabled I could see "blowme.jpg.vbs" as
opposed to "blowme.jpg". Not that I wanted to look at this loser anyway. Then theres the general spam virii. Never seen the ones
that get the headlines, just stupid ones like happy99. Don't even run a virus scanner. Last week, just for grins, I ran McAfee.
Total Virii count was.... Anyone wanna guess? ZERO.

Yep. ICQ is now being phased out in favor of a proprietary version of ICQ which actually communicates with the ICQ servers and acts
just like ICQ, except much less lame. They're all over the internet now kiddies :)

Ohhhhhhhhh yes. Now for some fun. I have no clue how I found it the first time (1995/'96), never came back after I annhilated that
PC. Then later on ('97 I believe) I saw it on cNet TV and got it again. Then I annhilated THAT PC. In 1998, I downloaded it to my
new Cyrix MII after seeing an ad banner for it. Then after the MII bit the bullet I didn't come back until someone emailed me about
it in 1999. Then I fooled around as a tourist until July '99 and registered. Lesson: You forget about things you don't pay for.

Nah, it's Asus's excuse not to include a ISA slot on the A7V and A7V133. Not that I truly mind, any legacy equipment on this machine
would slow it down too much, the 56k winmodem is enough trouble.

Or you can take M$'s route with WinXP. Make it buggy as anything and force them to call your 1-900 phone number at $10 a minute to
be put on hold for a half hour so you can obtain authorization to use your copy of Windows again. Orrrrr you can just crack it. So
not only do they get $150-$1050 initially but hundreds more when you encounter a bug.

Unfortunately around here the minority cares about the course of development and knows what technology is capable of.

Remember, for the most part PC and AW users are incredibly guallable (OE says thats spelled right) and will fall for advertising
alone. If some misinformed person says to them that AW is an incredibly advanced piece of software, they'll believe it. For
comparison, if someone says that AMD Tbirds suck and that P4 owns ass, they'll believe it. Companies draw on this guallability and
use it to entice them to purchase their equipment with flashy ads or highly advanced tech-speak that means absolutely NOTHING but
sounds impressive to the uneducated. AWCI doesn't need to do this in itself, it's more guallable users believed the little kiddies
and then theres those of us who refuse to see the advanced aspect of it all.

Because we are informed. For example. Cyrix (Used here because of their worthlessness and I am guaraunteed not to set off an AMD vs.
Intel riot like I did on usenet earlier this week, and yes, I do know they'll never do this) is going to release a new CPU. They'll
embark upon innane and senseless ad campaigns. For the systembuilding community, and overclockers in particular, they'll cater to
this much smaller group with more advanced features and higher quality.

Uh? And can we maybe realize that I have 920 worlds on my list, well above the old limit. It was fixed in an update to 3.1 a LONG
time ago.

As I said, OE said it was right, and it corrected it from "gullable" or somthing like that. Outlook*looks for does not = key*Mildly
intelligent. I'm sure 99% of the people who read it figured it out.

It would seem that the main cause of 2.2 use is lack of 3d hardware. Even in the "corperate sites", NT4 is becoming an endangered
species. However, these corperate sites oftentimes have lame onboard video or non-3d video. Lose the NT4 support, it will hold AW
back, and FRICKIN LOSE RENDERWARE.

I'm with ya there. Drop the parser and move code into 2.2 and at least update the 2.2 parser to ignore the 3.1 commands and work
with the texture command. Lighting is a 3.0 thing, so just have it ignore lighting code, and allow 2.2 to change the lighting, fog,
etc. settings for the world although they will be unable to see it.

Also, I hate to say it, but Voodoo 5 cards are DIRT cheap. I am in no way condoning the purchase of those shit slot fillers, and
GeForce II MX cards are becoming just about as cheap.

Welcome to the free-for-all. Just a few quick notes. Memorize your ISP's acceptable use policies, if you piss us off we'll hunt down
violations like hounds.
Review the post on 5/18/2001 titled "Newbie Guide to the Newsgroups: Take 2 (VERY long!)" by goober king.
"jfk2" and "chucks party" have always been total morons, and if "agent fox mulder" or "col klink" return, you may as well shoot
yourself to get it overwith.

This has been driving me nuts for some time, but I figure it's restricted to my equipment because of it's attributes. Every once in
awhile my entire 3d pane will blink from normal to white to normal again. There seems to be no pattern to it, happening anywhere and
at any time. My system specs:
Duron 700 at 1200 on KT133a chipset
256mb high performance RAM
SB Live Platinum 5.1
Hercules 3d Prophet II MX (GeForce II MX) PHYSICALLY MODIFIED to unlock the features of the Quadro 2 MXR.
WinME running Quadro 2 MXR Detonator 3 drivers. (Please note, I did NOT change chipsets on my video card, the Q2MXR uses the GF2MX
chip but has additional features unlocked)
Doesn't do this in other D3D programs, but they are fullscreen.
