In my travels in cyberland, I've met many nates. All of them have been
trouble makers. Strange that. shred no@1.invalidDec 20, 2001, 2:16am

I've run into Nate several times, and every time I see him he's always stirring up trouble. Nate007 is also involved in the ATA (ActiveWorlds "terrorist" association). -- Shred "Keep your words sweet, in case you have to eat them." data21Dec 20, 2001, 2:32am
Yes be vary careful with that guy, hes been in the dreamlandpark universe
also under the same name, completely wrecked a free build world. He started at the GZ and duplicated objects all over the world. But noone has his IP for a universe block. If any know it please let me know what it is thanks. [View Quote] brantDec 20, 2001, 12:35pm
I don't think that Nate has done bad enough things for a universe block.
Sure, he's vandalized some GZ's and such, but as he has a static IP, ejection from the world that's affected would be sufficient. Really, the only things that would constitute a universe block seem to be harassment, misuse of AW services (logging in 50 bots to raise a world's user count with a hacked SDK) or illegal activities like credit card fraud. Sure thing Brant, world bans from the worlds effected would be sufficient
unless as you state activities relating to illegal activities have been proven, proven been the operative word here, and then let AWcorp handle the situation. World owners can insert IP on ban lists as their right As Data is the Technical support board member for dreamlandpark he should be aware of the procedure to acquire a members IP number. But reinstating a world ban from the proven worlds that have been vandalised would be suffice. Then prove is any illegal client or methods have been used. [View Quote] data21Dec 20, 2001, 3:22pm

I crossposted to Community and Worldbuilders because
I saw it related to both. By default a reply goes to all groups where the refence went to. I removed "worldbuilders" in this one so it goes only "ommunity". You left the default unchanged so it went to both. [View Quote] -- "_ | /\ \ / __/ /_ grimbleDec 20, 2001, 7:50pm
I haven't come across this guy (yet) and don't have particularly strong
views on what to do about it, but I do have one point to make here. Unfortunately, all that banning someone from a world that they have vandalised achieves is to make it someone elses problem ... so he moves on, causing the problem for someone else. This doesn't sound like an accident since it appears he's been at it in a number of places, so its malicious. No solutions from me, just that point to raise. Grims [View Quote] |
