The (Hopefully Not) Pending Loss Of A!!CT & MrBruce (Community)
The (Hopefully Not) Pending Loss Of A!!CT & MrBruce // Community
Nov 14, 2003, 1:14am
Hi everyone:
As I type this, I am sitting in my pub watching VWTV on one TV and CTV on
the other. I read about the deparrture of MrBruce as a cit and A!!CT as a
world, but I wonder what, if anything, will happen to CTV. CTV is an icon
on A!!CT. In fact, it's the staple and signature of the world. Will all of
CTV's stuff be moved over to DFTV (which isn't nearly as much of an icon as
CTV is)? I also see ads of the 2004 Cy Awards on CTV. If CTV is supposed
to bring us that event next year and it isn't around, who will pick it up?
DFTV? I don't think so. VWTV? Me thinks Brock probably has enough on his
plate IMHO :-)
As many of you know, I set up a local CTV affiliate on Channel 8 in
Hamsterville. I also set up a DFTV affiliate on Channel 4 as well. I just
saw an ad on CTV about selling some customizable (sp?) PHP script for CTV.
I wonder how much good that would do if CTV leaves along with A!!CT and
MrBruce. It took a LOT of guts and the editing of the description field to
suck up to Brock and VWBN, which I now have on Channel 5 as I sent SFTV
packing for WHAM-TV Channel 11, which had been OFF THE AIR for weeks
because, aside from VWTV, there is nothing to put on.
If MrBruce finally does call it quits (and it's real), we can't exactly
laugh this off. I know that Brock is just salivating to claim victory over
CTV (he's never been very high on CTV to begin with), but he's still got
some rather stiff competion in DFTV though. As far as the rest of AW goes,
dare I say this, but it could be enough for E N Z O to start considering
putting the proverbial DEATH KNELL on AWI. I say this because WHY should E
N Z O put HIS $$$ into a company which is already a sinking ship??
Just something for everyone to think about....
Cheers for now :-)

Well speaking for MrBruce who is sick of AWI allowing certain people the
right to attack him anytime he posts anything here.
Here is a little CTV history and about its founder known as Pineriver.
CTV is ran by Pineriver, not known to many, Pineriver started out in AW as a
tourist and made A!!CT his home. As I have heard Pineriver applied for one
of MrBruce's cit loans so he could build and try out AW without fear his
builds will be deleted.
Pineriver started out in AW as A1CTTourist5 a citizenship that was loaned
out on a temp basis from MrBruce.
As it turned out, MrBruce took a liking to Pineriver's artistic abilities,
his abilities do voice CTV radio broadcasts with news related to AW. Then
MrBruce was even more inspired by him, when Pineriver made his first WMP
Activeworlds advertisement. It was a hit!!
Pineriver also made several other videos as well.
But because of Pineriver's talent. MrBruce agreed to allow him to continue
using the citizenship because of the great benefit he was to AWTeen and
Activeworlds.Inc as well as to A!!CT World.
The sad part is not only will A!!CT and MrBruce be gone, so will all the
citizenships billed to him each month and from seeing billing records here
so will Twik, Pineriver and among those is Robbie's citizenship, along with
23 other citizenships and then eventually all nine worlds will be gone.
Trust me, MrBruce has emailed rick at activeworlds.com 2 weeks ago to work
something out, MrBruce does care about all the hard work people have put
into his world, but he has yet to hear even a reply that his concerns are
their concerns at AWI.
A1CT Builder.

If a!!ct gose away, CTV will still remain to bring entertainment to the
community.
We have yet to have a staff meeting to discuss this topic since it is still
far away

Well Mr Bruce will have to get over it... AWI is a company, not
babysitters... If you can't take the heat, get out the kitchen... AWI has to
intervien in situations where they could end up sued for something or
another... Bruce however, does not get this to my knowledge. So its his job
to try and flip his image...

I disagree 100% just watch the NG's for a while there is a "team" of "disruptors" in here.
They do not hesitate to cause upheaval. It IS AWI's responsibility to create a welcome environment for it's customers.

I agrree with you Mark that AWI is a company and NOT a babysitter HOWEVER I
also believe that not even AWI can just simply "sneeze" at the contributions
that MrrBruce has REPEATEDLY made to this community. That being said, I
think those who are/were STUPID enough to let MrBruce CONTINUALLY pay for
their cits need to eitherr A). WAKE UP & SMELL THE COFFEE and PAY YOUR OWN
WAY instead of FREELOADING at someone else's expense or B). Get out of
ActiveWorrlds when their currrent cit expires (if not both).
I never went to, or depended on ANYONE to pay my cit for me and when it
expirres, I log on as a tourist until I renew my cit again if I haven't
already done so before expirration. Either that or I just don't get on AW
without an active cit (I do have other things I can do with my time, ya
know!). :-)
Just my liberal opinion :-)
Cheers for now everyone :-)

CTV? What is CTV?
I don't even consider CTV Competition to VWBN.
Also the CY Coverage is not a exclusive thing, neither to VWBN or CTV, all
stations can cover it yes.
But VWBN has been guaranteed certain rights that are declared by alphabit
phalpha "exclusive" Although her logic confuses me I am not to complain.
