Well I was messing with fog settings today.. I seemed to notice that if you
turn to face your South-West or North-East the fog seems to lighten or
dissappear until you face away from it.

Possibly is anyone else getting this problem?

I have the same effect. It seems that the fog distance
shrinks to zero in 2 directions. (I use software render)

Good at least it's not just me :)

I'm using DX mode and OpenGL mode.. same effects.

happens to me also so i think its not just you. and now the fog seems more
like a wall then actual fog
