Change default chat color (Wishlist)
Change default chat color // Wishlist
Apr 16, 2003, 2:18am
I would like to be able to change the chat color for regular chat (or even
the other messages) from black to white in order to see better since I
installed a dark-colored theme...I am not sure if it is possible or not now,
so I'm posting this to wishlist as something I'd like to see implemented.

Bots in AW 3.4 with the 3.4 world server can customly format the color and
style of a users text...
...other then that there really isn't anything else you can do...

Yeah, you can build a bot that listens to everyone elses chat and for
everyone else it still sends the messages as black, but to you it sends them
as whatever color you want.

This raises an interesting thought though ... that AW breaks the Health &
Safety guidelines for "VDU" use in the workplace. Changing the colour scheme
in windows shouldn't preclude the use of the software. Unfortunately, with
all the settings for text colour effectively being controlled remotely from
the browser, this is unlikely to be remedied and would force the removal of
a useful feature from the software at any rate.
Oh well.

A black bacvkground would be A). A lot easier on the eyes and B). A LOT
cooler But unfortunately, REALITY doesn't always agree. Hence, unless the
standard WEB DESIGNING techniques change to meet this REQUIREMENT, there'll
be A LOT of PC users suffering from BLINDNESS by age 50. Hopefully speech
synthesizer hardware devices like the one a friend of mine uses will be
perfected in such a way that one could use just about ANY type of
application by then. :-)
Also, I tried using a black background myself using AW 3.2 and later 3.3 and
ran into some graphics (DirectX related?) issues as well. :-( Hopefully
this has been remedied with 3.4 Beta. :-) *crossing fingers*
Cheers for now :-)

My background is actually a dark navy-blue that was one of the skins that
came with a theme pack I downloaded. Outlook Express and notepad and a few
other programs show the text in white now, but AW keeps the black text for
some reason...
