AWLD.OP (General Discussion)
AWLD.OP // General Discussionstrike rapierSep 27, 2002, 3:27pm
Hola,
During my latest Business Studies course were having to use some imaginary money *cough* cheep aint it? *cough* to invest in companies stocks to see which 1 of us can make the most money. Among my travels though the stock exhanges and Yahoo I came across a notice saying AWLD had now changed to AWLD.OP and was trading at $0.13 a share... could someone who knows better than I explain please, I thought AWLD was gone. - Mark lord fettSep 27, 2002, 6:30pm
I take that course, but at my school, it is called Stock Market. We get $100,000 pretend money to invest in stocks and our class has
been entered into a Stock Market Simulation throughout the state and the winner gets a cash prize to split amoung each team. [View Quote] lord perceptionSep 27, 2002, 6:48pm

I use to play with an NZ based version, but apparently it went down the gurgler. lord perceptionSep 27, 2002, 6:49pm

AWLD is far from gone. Though it *used* to trade on NASDAQ, it now
trades on the Over-The-Counter Bulletin Board system, which consists mainly of penny stocks. My guess is that the ".OP" is just to signify that it is now an OTC stock, since you can still look up "AWLD" and get the most recent stock price.
