I've always liked the pirate guy. The intricate little details and stuff to his outfit are really cool. |

Wow, that's really fierce. I've heard of Bluebeard but not Blueteeth. I like the way the render wipes from pre-production sketch to glossy render (right to left). And what's the story behind those wild snail-like appendages? Very eerie concept. My only 'Der whass'at' moment is that the harsh perspective on the sword makes it look like a dagger, far too small for its scabbard. Lovely textures though.

Here's another...
Going for bit of that Boris Vallejo 'over saturated' color thing he does..
http://www.meobeco.com/odds/cyberfloyd/008.jpg
'funny...as i work(ed) on this character I see him as a 'mini me' of Roman O!
:)
No insult intended by the way..but we met in New York at True Town..and I see a bit of Roman in there..though not intentional.
Guess all us beared guys look alike.. :)
Anyway I do laugh at some of the ideas for animations using him as a mini me Roman...promoting TrueSpace 7+.....all in reasonable tatse..and always in good fun. But eh...'we' can all live without those.

I still think these chars are brilliant, as they have a unique creative style. I could see these chars (or others like them, using that style) having their own TV series. Now it might have to be late night Sci Fi channel I guess (knowing Vinny's sense of humor ;) ) but still, they look like they deserve the freedom to run around and do things and generally make a name for themselves on the TV :)
Keep posting these look great!
As for the latest looking like a Roman 'mini me', I am not commenting at all, and I leave that for everyone else to decide based on meeting and pics!

I just had a flashback of a TV show from my youth, & heard the words "...all done in the best PAH-SIBBLE taste!" echo through my mind.
Man, I really hope Roman's never seen that show! |

Hahha, Kenny Everett huh? With his character Cupid. That was one of my favorite TV shows back then, watched it without fail every week! I'll be sure not to say anything about that show to Roman ;)
Tom
EDIT: PS - you know these characters would fit right in on that show! Could go in place of that cartoon sequence he used to have, Caption Kremmen or however it was spelt. With the lovely assistant Carla. Haha, too funny to think about. |

Gosh, that's bringing back some memories! I'm gonna go dig my Kenny vids out of storage and re-live those glory days of comedy. I've even got the Captain Kremmen vinyl single somewhere! The world of comedy was robbed when he was taken from us.
Thanks for the welcome blast of nostalgia Alien and Tom! |

Not a terribly well designed website, but you'll get the idea:
http://www.kennyeverett.co.uk/
Kenny was a DJ on pirate radio before moving onto mainstream stations, then into TV. He used make all his own jingles and radio plays and was a huge fan of using radio and video editing and effects to entertain. He was, I think, the UK's first "shock jock" and there's never been anybody quite like him or half as good since. |

By the way...
I have shared this model with another Motion Studio 'freak' to play with... :)
here's what he gets for his trouble...lol
-1 Motion Studio rig with
-28 total Sub skeletons
and a total of
-128 bones!
lucky him!
Hopefully these numbers give you an idea of how complex the rigging is and more so just how damn good/powerful Motion Studio is...final word on how easy it is to animate with is pending. |

With all this talk of mini-Roman & Kenny Everett....
Sorry Roman, I couldn't resist. :p

I tried to do it so he'd be peering over his sunglasses like Kenny was in the original, but I just couldn't get it right, so settled for putting the sunglasses over his eyes.
Humdinger: there's more info on him here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenny_Everett).
Hopefully these numbers give you an idea of how complex the rigging is and more so just how damn good/powerful Motion Studio is...final word on how easy it is to animate with is pending.
Let's hope tS7.5 has similar [or even better] capabilities. Cool pirate, BTW. |

Dragon ....
This was one of the last characters I had to come up with for our story.
Had to limit my time spent on him.... so he was modeled ,textured and rigged in Motion Studio over 2-3 days about a total of 14 -18 hours.
Plus another 2 hours to make the 40 or so morphs for his head/face (using Space Time Morph 2)
As a result he has some 'issues' :)..and I will eventually go back and clean up parts..such as the materials for his mouth and gums.
Body and head are each about 1,000 polygons before being sub-divided
