PS - in true Oscars style again, more thanks on the end since I had so much to write up I didn't get them in there!

Thanks to Marcel Barthel for developing the awesome "Backyard" alley way scene. It really shows the abilities of the real-time renderer, and made a great eye catching display in those moments where trueSpace7 wasn't being demo'ed.

Also thanks to Norm, as the Robot Arm object of his was also a great illustration of how two people can be acting on the same object at once. It's also just a cool object too :)

Alright, back to catching up on emails, work tasks, and other forum posts again... :)

Glad to hear the show was good! :) I'm happy that I'm apart of the caligari

family heheh....I've been scoping you fella's since TrueSpace 3. (When I

was a young teen)

That's cool Roman was talking to abunch of VIP's (mysterious ones???)

and not to mention getting alot of attention with Ts7....(Can I have a free

copy one of these days? :p )

The siggraph show is at San Diego next year? Cool! That's a hell of alot closer

than Boston. I still might have to scratch up some doe to check it out though.

Any chance of the show entering Salt Lake City, Utah in the future? :D

So caligari and Hash software know each other well huh? I've owned Animation

Master for awhile but that software had a hard time agreeing with my PC.

And TS6.6 is just flat out easier to use in your interface!

btw, I hear alot of talk about the upgrade of Ts7.5, what are the new

features again in this upgrade?

What are your plans for the siggraph show next year?

Feature set for tS7.5 is not released :) It will feature hair and fur, animation tools including things specific for character animation, and improvements to modeling tools. That's about as much as had been said up to now :)

Check out the Captain's Blog for more info (it's a thread in the forums where Roman updates with the latest behind the scenes info). The latest news of any kind will appear in there first.

Thanks!

Tom

I hope the "Captain" is in a Blogging mood after 3 days of talking! We could use an update. Were the programmers behaving while the Boss was away?

Animation Master sucks anyway.

I like it for reasons mentioned here in other parts of the thread.

Now Roman just has to convince them to hold Siggraph in shared space, then we all could attend. :D

Okay.........just for fun.

So last night I finished the first 'cut' of the video I put together from the show and fired it off to Roman and Tom for review.

Just for fun I got a idea. I wanted to throw my December aniamtion into the project in some way as a subliminal 'kudos' to me for putting the video together, but that seemed a bit too much on my part.

So for the hell of it I grabbed some of Roman's audio and quickly synched it up with that animation.

Pretty funny how it almost synches up perfectly....keeping in mind this is just the same mpeg of the girlie from the december animation gallery...not a new render.

The scary thing is, that's vastly better lip-synch than almost every TV cartoon made in the last 10 years!

The little wiggle and stroking of the hair when he says "Tom and Dave Bokon" is very alarming. I wonder...

More fun stuff...

Took audio and threw it into the facial animator..

rendered in low qaulity..mpeg 1.. 2.5 mrg zip w/sound

If you start with good clean audio..and tweak the sliders here and there it basically 'works' pretty well...though a nice revampo of similar 'tech' would be nice for 7.5.

So funny you say that...lol

When I first met Dave and found out he was Noko..I was surprised ,as for some reason I swore 'Noko' from the TS forums was an asian girl ...

LOL...caught me by surprise to meet Dave. Though he was great.. if he was as pleasurable and a woman..? even better.

;)

BUT!

Back to the video..so yes other than tyring to get the beginning to synch up ..the rest is just by chance, so it's rather 'neat' how my initial thought of Noko/ Dave worked it's way in there.

If you are lost...? 'Everything happens for a reason'

...yeah that's the ticket!
