Andy, look on your passname node in the LE system/network..not on 'netproperties' or 'net client authorize'
server address; tpportal.caligari.com
port. 1111

Lol! I really can not figure this out! I can't find any node which might look useful. System/network? I'm trying to do all this from trueSpace, right? Not in my actual windows directory... Bah, this is way too confusing for people who like to click a button and make things work, lol. When I try to log in normally through tS it tells me something' wrong with my network, which I think is what you're trying to help me with... I am sorry, but I have absolutely no idea where to click or look.

Sowie!!!

Here you go, push this button. :)
Updated to newer settings:
Server = tsportal.caligari.com
Port = 1209

Import into the Link Editor and select the Start button.

in the LINK EDITOR in ts7 if you are in default layout..[switch to player tab ]..it will be the area on the bottom of the workspace with the tabs 'artist' and 'developer'..click the orange triangle on the corner of the LINK EDITOR window until it stops changing when you click..it should say 'system' in the left of that titlebar..look for the 'network' node ..open it with the orange triangle in the corner on the node
there you will find your passname node . .make sure you change the server address ,..also in 'NetProperties' node
server address; tpportal.caligari.com
port. 1111

First did the meeting take place? Second did a meeting take place last week? If not why are they random? What is the "Offical Port Number" 1111?

I go and find Avatars roaming (Roman, pun intended) aimlessly....this could work Oct 31. as a spook house....but...

This isn't some secret club is it? I get nervous when someone mentions fur caps.....

Stan is quite right with his explanation.

Port should be 1109 to start. I am curious why you would ask if port 1111 is "official" port.

"Meetings" are as random as users want them to be. There has been a meeting every Thursday evening. The space has been made available for you to utilize. The decision is yours to partake or not. The meetings are only going to be successful if users wish to make it so.

Sorry Norm I thought Thursday Night was an organized event. So nothing is official hence my question.

No not an official scenario. From time to time Roman may show up but it is not something to count on every week. I try to make it each week myself but may miss the odd one.

The idea was to have users collaborate together at a specified time. It should be organized by users, would be best. Would be cool if it became a regular affair.

What time are these meetings? And by the way, I finally got to connect via the help on this page of reseting the port and address! I couldn't figure out what was going on!

Hi Ed. I had the same problem when connecting through a router. Are you using a cable modem, or router, or 56K modem, or DSL? I wonder if this is an issue with internet connection hardware...

No problem with cable modem/ router setup here; hooks right up. Using truePlay though, FWIW. The one time an actual time was mentioned it was 8 PM PST. There's no official set time, really; I'd say 'anytime' Thursday evening your local time would be fine. If no one's there yet, lurk or poke around the two 'studios' if you haven't already. Someone shows up eventually.

Maybe I should try using truePlay instead of 7.

8PM?! Man, that makes it 11pm here on the eastern side of the continent. Bit late for me on a weeknight. I get up at 5:30 am.

Maybe I'll just try the earlier login and lurk idea.

That's about the time I was going to try to get in. Now, if I can only get the thing to work properly.

Each time I try to connect to the shared space, I get an error event : "Connection refused due to different network interface version."

What does it means ?

Tonight (Thursday October 5th) there will be an exclusive surprise on live chat! To find download truePlay, and then register, and at 7pm PST simply log in. We will be there, as will our regular community members, and it should be a lot of fun!

I ended coming in wayy late to the point I saw Roland and trueblue (not so much) but what I mostly wanted to make sure was that the suprise was. the big house thingy right (which was pretty cool)? oh well I keep catching myself almost forgetting.

What house? I am intrigued as I supplied a student dorm/room for tP use a while ago and I never get to these meetings due to the time difference. I know a few others environments were done for tP as well. Good to know they are getting aired if it was one of them.

It was more like a domed auditorium with a mosh pit in the middle. Some pretty comfortable chairs around the circular perimeter. It was labeled the Science Room with an exterior of trees and water features. This meeting had a good turn out. The hours are tough on the people from the East Coast so a few of us couldn't stay. A couple users were modeling in the center while the rest of us had our Avatars violated. (At first I thought it was another Spinach crisis but Rumor has it trueBlue was playing games with the LE and made us look sick!) The room was awesome and if it's still there you should go check it out and show the kids.

p.s. I think the room was designed by Emmanuel Asset.

Fun times had by all. This was my first time to one of these Thursday night meetings, and I thought it was awesome.

BTW, I'm new here. :D I bought ts6.6 last summer, then upgraded to ts7 when the pre-release offer came out. I'm one of those long-time forum readers, first-time posters kinda people.

Anyway, I think this whole shared 3d space has a lot of promise and I look forward to seeing it grow!

p.s. I'm a multimedia programmer by day and an aspiring musician by night...

IBrent,
With your background you'll fit right in! Seems like alot of users are also musicians, could be a Bohemian thing! (of course I play Violin, Piano and Dulcimer so no Mosh Pit for me!!! I would love to have a cool ripped t-shirt!!!)
Nice to have you with us and don't be afraid to share your work here. :)

Thanks Steinie, I'm a trombone player myself. I play rock, jazz, and classical on occasion. I played a wedding last month where the groomsmen ran through the crowd shirtless... the closest I'll get to a rock concert... ;)

So far my current 3d "work" involves turning on trueSpace7, loading sample scenes and following along with the tutorials...

I'm interested in animation and 3d/video integration. Looking forward to a lot of fun with this group of talented folk!

iBrent

I didn't know Pepe was there! :D
