Why don't those of you in the Euro time zones agree on a time and day that would 'work for you' and go ahead and meet in the workshop? I'm sure you could also get some insomniacs/stragglers/slackers/ from this side of the water to join you.
Talk amongst yourselves, agree on a time and then post it.
The #trueSpace IRC chat (http://www.mirc.com/) (galaxynet server (http://www.galaxynet.org/)) is also open 24/7 for any gabby types who still haven't discovered it. |

So far my current 3d "work" involves turning on trueSpace7, loading sample scenes and following along with the tutorials...
Well at least you have the Ducati model to play with then...good for experimenting with HDRI as I remember. Last seen in 'Harold's New Bike' I believe... |

For trueSpace7 users still not sure how to change the Network settings, I updated the script here:

Import this script into the Link Editor and select the start button. |

Yes, it's that day of the week again.
The day when I sit in the meeting room watching the tumbleweeds blow by and explaining to occasional new visitors that 'it's usually busier here'. |

Mouse does seem sensitive to vertical movement. Maybe no more so than horizontal but it's not quite the feel of a 1st person shooter... I have a hard time breaking myself of the habit not to scroll the mouse down to the center of the screen after hitting the "walk" button. I inevidibly end up looking at my feet or beyond somewhat disoriented. |

I said it once and I'll say it again, the controls are not right. I went there yesterday evening (early) and tried out the living room. By accident I zoomed out too much and thought "no problem I'll just click the camera reset button". Well it does reset your placement but not the zoom of the camera. I felt like I had tunnel vision.
There has to be limits set for the controls so that the user doesn't go out of bounds with the settings.
How about the "LOST WORLD" in between the two labs?
Another example would be every time I select a new location and click the right mouse button to drop from floating I end up looking at my feet or doing somersaults.
If I want to rotate and use the center green ball control, instead of rotating in place around my center I move in a large arc.
The Thursday Night Chat room walls are cool at first but can you really stay in that room to chat without getting a headache?
What's the deal with the floating purple ring in each world? Do they have a function?
Again I'll state that we must know how many people are in the world before we enter so we're not wasting time jumping from world to world.
I own TS and can't figure out the intent on some of this stuff, just think what a new user is thinking...
If Caligari doesn't want to run the Thursday Night gatherings ( which Roman stated early on "Guys I want something planned for these meetings each week) I'll bet it's doomed for failure. That's the reason I'm still shocked when Tom G said it wasn't a Caligari run meeting.
Why would users want to use these places if theres nothing to do? |
