Hi. Im just curious about if ts7.5 will commes with a tool for sculpting?
That can be a very very good tool; actually thats a very requested tool by professionals because the practisity, and well, its actually being implemented in blender as i know, and will be released in the next version. Blender is opensource :)
Blender version of this tool will be developed by the creator of: http://sharp3d.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page
by the way, this tool is very kind of ZBrush tool (i just discovered some days ago); its very nice and free for win/lin :)
but it can be good to have this implemented inside ts7.5; any idea if will be integrated something like this???

Roman:
[...] True displacement tools will allow you to literally paint new geometry on the existing surface using image brushes.
From what is said this seems to be the sculpt tool for 7.5.
Check out Roman's posts for updates and features to be in 7.5 here (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=893). |

Since 4.3 TS has always had some scuplting tools. However while they were inovative they were not improved upon, polished, or given solid workflows. ALL of which are completely paramount for the sclupt tools in TS7.5 to have to even be considered usable in the face of cheaper tooling.
If Caligari pulls it off they will be the ONLY complete package to have this tool set and it will put them at the forefront in this area. |

I didn't realise that...tS7.5 could be very significant indeed for the 3D market. |

I should not for equality that MAYA has had sclupting tools for some time now, but due to poor implementation they've been ill used.
@splinters, TS7.5 could do it. You have Hexagon, now take it a step better and that's the area in which TS displacement brushs must operate in. I know you won't believe me, so go talk to parva about the displacement tools in the Silo v2 BETA.
Right now the Displacement Tool Only Programs fall in this rough order and will most likely change after the various releases:
ZBrush - current king, and sole displacement app
Coming out soon:
Mudbox - too little is none about this app, but it's getting glowing ratings
SILO v2a - right now it tops out at 1.8 million poly's, but it's still in beta
MAYA - blah tools
Blender - very early in development
Freeware app - there is a another freeware app out there(i can't remember the name) |

Not sure what you are getting at Chrono, I know what TS7.5 is capable of at the moment-I test it and am making icons for new features.
Yes, I have Hexagon and only wish I had time to play with it. Still, for £2..not a big issue...;)
And why won't I believe you (and exactly what won't I believe)?
I exchange many emails with Parva, some private, some on Beta issues. I am aware of his interest in other 3D apps...Silo beta included. |

Wasn't Chrono the one who took my joke seriously when I said I'd be bored without Shike's WIP? It's pretty cool that he's so enthusiastic to make tS7.5 the best it could possibly be... but I get the feeling he thinkings we, as beta-testers, aren't. Ah well, I'll read through it a few more times and try to make sense of it. What doesn't do displacement? Huh? :D |

In the Church of Caligari, there is only one faith. Trust in Roman my child, and thou shalt be reborn. |
