I think i'll just have to return it. It's stupid... in safe mode I can get crystal clear 1024x768 32bit visuals... but when my graphics card takes over, it can't display anything. It is literally that one program that I can't load up, and is apparently the only one I need. I guess I could wipe my system and start from scratch, but it's too much hassle for a monitor. I'm giving up :(
Submit to the ATI side of the force. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alien42/smilies/vader.gif
Too bad, the 21" Sony is a beast, weighs a ton, heats up the room, sucks up most of my desktop real estate and pulls in so much dust that if I slam the door I get an instant cloud.
You could get an air conditioner with a dust filter, that'd solve both your dust & heat probs. :) CRTs also guzzle more electricity. My 20" CRT [admittedly it's ancient] uses about 125W I think, whereas my 19" LCD has a bigger viewable area & only uses 48W. |

I'm back to my TINY 21" monitor now, and am hating it. I had the dream my friends... but it disappeared. The annoying thing is... I can open that control panel now... ARGH!!!! |

Have you tried connecting both at the same time? It might let you into that control panel with both connected. Alternatively, are there any options to force HDTV mode? It's a shame you don't have an ATI-based card, as the control centre has a bunch of options that would seem aimed at getting someone out of the pickle you're in. |

Dual 20" Dell ultrasharp sometings flat panels. Okay, that's at work, but it still counts cause I do use trueSpace for work sometimes. :)
By the way, I love dual monitors. We originally got them just because we could, but now I can't work w/o them. Especially being a graphic designer, I always have a thousand things open at once. and I just Alt+TAB to go throught the programs to find my way around. It really is just a matter of getting used to dual monitors. At first I found it extrememly distracting, but now can;t live without them!
I'm the "other" in the voting so far. :)

Sorry the dream died Zeipher. Just get yourself another 21 incher and imagine having 42 inches of real estate. I'm telling you dual is the way to go especially when animating in trueSpace!!!!
