Oh Yeah. I was at CompUSA today and there was a 19" CRT (Viewsonic), a Manager's Special. It was a clearance item for $80, plus it was a red tag item, which meant they took off another 25%. They said it was on display for a little while, but then it just sat in their warehouse for a long time and they wanted to get rid of it. Well, I needed one! I had trouble with using 2 monitors before; truespace kept locking up. Then my PC died so I replaced it. I tested the new mobo/CPU today with a smaller 15" monitor and it worked fine. So I got this one!
Finally I have a dual display setup. Sure I would like a flat panel but I cannot afford the $150 - $300 for it.
As far as shopping,
Nellja-Wan has taught me well....

Good size monitor for a great price there, Frootee. And it was brand new too, can't knock that. As I said in another post, I got my 21" CRT monitor for €50 because it had a fault, it was displaying a double line to the left of everything on screen. But over a few weeks of use, whatever the problem was, fixed itself. The image is now crystal clear, sharp, no more double line effect :) .
Anyone else get a great deal on a great monitor? |

Uhm, 2 17' and 4 19' for $60? Granted, that did include 6 computers as well. |

From my work, when the company had a cleanup as part of moving from one office building to another. So not really a fair comparison with shopping around in general. Since then, I've also ended up with 3 8-disk SCSI arrays (pretty small individual drives, I believe, the space is altogether no more than a 300GB, give or take) and a couple of more computers. |
