@Gavelsnodd:
Ops, you noticed...yep, when I changed the ground in ZB2 and then went back, the tree was buried...temporarily tried to hide it with a rock but will fix it later.
He,he, yeah, my Tick's coming to get you....it feeds on sleeping people ;)
@brianalldridge:
Agree, just plain ground wouldn't be enough. Thinking about adding growth on the rocks though...they look to mint-conditioned.
@stan:
The head shape is wrong for a normal bridle but he actually has a leather strap that goes under the chin...but it's kinda hard to see. ;)
I hope it will be more visible when I've redesigned the mouthpiece.
@spacekdet:
Unfortunately the TriBeast is easily scared and seconds after this pic was taken it jumped off the cliff... the Rider (Bob?) was not pleased ;)
@chrono:
That's insane ! It's bigger than my 32" widescreen TV ! :D
Hm, comparing the two...the tiny one looks like it could be a 19" like the one I bought (it's beeing shipped right now :).
Don't your neck hurt from looking left an right? Must be like sitting on the front row at the movies ;)
(wonder if I can use that as a pathetic reason for why I didn't get a bigger screen :D ) |

Excellent, only problem I see now is the sky background. In my opinion, this really needs to be more substantial-brooding coulds and deep blue sky, perhaps with that dark grey smoke trail I mentioned earlier.
Otherwise, really impressive stuff. trueSpace really deserves more prominence due to guys like you and Madmouse (plus many others).:D |

Really have to start a WIP report on my next project to keep me going, seems to help a lot to keep one motivated :D . Comes along nicely. I agree with splinters, the sky color should be different. Though it's an alien world and what do we know? It just doesn't fit in my humble opinion. The pose of the tick is exactly what I had in mind. :cool: |

Yeah graysho - speaking personally I have got great support and inspiration from posting to WIP threads, both here and at Renderosity. Most of what I've learned I either nutted out myself or was helped by someone on a forum somewhere (especially here at Calligari). For me it's always a great pleasure to be able to 'pass it on' and pay back the great support I've received by offering it to others.
I fully recommend starting a project that you think might be slightly out of you present reach and sharing it on the WIP forum - you'll get the pleasure of support from fellow trueSpacers who recieve the buzz of feeling like they've helped out.
Shikes marvellous tribeast has been influenced in many small and subtle ways by the input of many - in some very small way I feel like Lar's beast is partly mine because I know he has acted on input from me - and it feels cool to be a part of something this good.
Lars I'm loving the progress - I'm also thinking, why would the tribeasty be scared of the tic? That big bird-like beak in the tribeast looks like it's evolved for cracking open the shells of arthropods (another word for bugs) like the tic. Maybe tribeasts live by eating tics? So perhaps the tribeast is about to gobble up the tic and the tic has his legs up in defense? Just a thought.... |

That's good to know, because I had stopped even trying to use bones in TS years ago. Now maybe I can build a couple of the designs I've already got partial built!! |

WOW!! I haven't been following this lately....truely outstanding work! Have you ever thought about doing cover art for Fantasy/SCIFI novels? I can definately see this on the cover of a book. I agree with Paul on the darker background, and I like the new eye of the creature (well it's new to me:))

Thanks everyone ! :D
*panicking, a lot of people looking, need to produce more stuff...* ;)
My posts start to feel like "can you spot the difference" since I've
mostly been doing finetuning instead of fixing the big ToDo list. :o
@Splinters & Graysho:
The sky is on my ToDo list. But I'm not sure if I'll start on it before I start on the 6000pix width verision.
( Ok, I only have an A4size printer now....but someday I might finally get a bigger one ;) )
@W!ZARD:
Couldn't agree more :)
The forum WIP is a type of collaboration workplace, and for easily distracted people like me, it's the perfect place to keep motivation up :D
*ooh, look...a rerun of a tv-show I've already seen 3 times....needs to sit and stare for a couple of hours...* ;)
And yes, the TriBeast is a grass-eater but now and then (when he's really hungry) a Tick becomes dinner ;)
@chrono:
Yeah, I guess that they can't be that bad since a lot of people in the forum actually produces cool animations. It's like with all software, know the limitations and workarounds and you'll get results.
Oh and it probably helps to read the manual...something I'm obvious too lazy to do ;)
@KeithC:
Cover art... well I would have to become so famous that they would accept this answer to the request:
"Yes, I can give you a cover...it will cost you a fortune and take 6-12 months."
Three years later when I'm finally finished:
"Oh, you wanted a Dragon with a castle in the background? Sorry, but I felt like doing a spaceship!" ;) |
