Hi Gang:
I want to congratulate Zach for his winning damselfly image. Truely spectacular!
Take a look Ladies and Gentleman. This is art.
What does it mean? What is it all about? I have no clue, but I have an imagination and can come up with dozens of story lines for this image. And that is the beauty of it, it has a story, a story that will be different for each one of us and also valid for each one of us.
Thank you Zach, but I can't help but ask if it has a Title?

Definitely outstanding work on this months image gallery.
Looks like ts7 is cranking out some nice stuff. Wonder how many were done with VRay?

What it is? I've seen it, I think it's at LHR. It's the terminal for chess pawns. Easy to overlook because of all the construction work going on there.
Congratulations Zach, a great image, both imaginative and well executed! |

Thank you SO MUCH for your kind words:)Actually, all of my pieces are symbolic EXCEPT that one...I called it "pink floyd concert," just 'cause it's really trippy like one. But I'm glad you enjoy it:D |

digitaldali,
Nice job with the gallery and the one man show! Also it will be nice to have you as a part of this forum too! I liked what you said about trueSpace, it's all about having fun. We have similiar philosophies on that one.
Now tell us (you can whisper if you want) what is that gang box doing on the rear of a dragon fly? Will it make more sense if I go back to a Pink Floyd concert?;) or have a flashback?:D
The bird you did inside the tornado siren...was that your idea or a remake?
I believe I saw an original of that one. I remember thinking it had a duel meaning and liked it.
Anyways I have liked your work for awhile, keep up the good work. |

From your One Man Show:
" This challenge keeps me focused with every piece I develop. This is also the reason I never save models or specifically created textures from any given artpiece. I believe each should stand alone...and that is why I take great pride in deleting all project files after each piece is completed! Like us, I feel ideas come from dust and return to dust. The buddhists call this intemperance...I call it 'the condition of being.' "
Michaelangelo did the exact same thing, whenever he finished a work, he'd order his servants to burn all the sketches and doodles etc. that led up to it.
Brilliant work by the way. Some of the best 3D I've ever seen, let alone TrueSpace. Did want to ask one thing though, what sorts of machines do you get to work with? |

Well I studied Michaelangelo's work and now I'm studying yours. Are you using TS to add the light rays or in Photoshop? In almost everyone of your later renderings I see the same effect.
Also are you using the DOF post tender in TS or Photoshop? I'm seeing shadows being applied that appear post tender.
(For example in an earlier work I see a shadow on the wall and bathtub that cannot be possible).
You do realize that when someone says I destroy all my stuff after completion it sends out red flags. |

Really? I didn't know that...oh, btw, I have a crappy machine. 512 mb RAM and 1.something Mhz processor. I have to use lots of shortcuts to get a job done. I should get a new laptop in April, though, as a business bonus:Dwoohoo! |

I don't think I'm too far off when I refered to having "Flashbacks". I believe those are "Magic Mushrooms" . They have an active ingredient called "Psilocybin" popular in the 60's for their psychedilic reaction. People start to see things that aren't there. Sort of like a scene file.;) |

Oh yeah, the bird in the tornado siren:PI called that one "reversal of fortune." cute li'l piece: the wind is blowing all the leaves (and everything else) out of the tree, so the bird can't nest there; However, he found a cozy, shelter box that seems safe to wait the storm out...hence "reversal of fortune."
Just kind of a comedic piece I decided to do...all original. Oh, the box on the back of the dragonfly...???? It's like a li'l carriage or ferry for the pawns:|like I said, I didn't put too much thought into it. I usually expect someone else to come up with something much deeper on those pieces...then I say "yeah, that's exactly what I meant.":P |

The bird in the tornado siren is a bit of a conundrum... either the bird is deaf or the siren is broken. It should be sounding the alarm due to the approaching tornado and yet the bird roosts peacefully in it's horn.
It's a nice render, but it just doesn't make any sense. |
