I'm not sure where this belongs...

In the image gallery, I'm hoping to enter my race picture that I've got, is it elegable to enter even though I copied the designs I used for the models.

(F-Zero, Nintendo) If I put small print saying models copyright of Nintendo e.t.c. Would it be elegable then?

I have seen lots of mp3 players and video game characters posted without the licencing, if nintendo has a problem with it, they'lll just ask you to remove the image from the site

Generally, companies have no problem with this - however, it may be different in that this is from a game, so the 3D models are kind of close to that. People don't really care if you model and render their MP3 player since it is a hardware item, but they may be more cagey with things from games etc.

The main issue is that entering the contest could potentially count as "commercial" since you could potentially gain from it. This makes it different from a posting on a forum etc.

On the other hand, it is pretty harmless for the company, they don't lose any revenue as such (ie no-one is going to look at your image rather than buy their game), and it is a kind of free advertising.

Usually the best case with these questions is to get in touch with the company and confirm if that is ok with them, just to be on the safe side.

None of the above is intended as legal advice of course, since I am not a lawyer and neither do I know all the ins and outs of the law on this subject!

HTH!
