I'm calling this an example as opposed to a tutorial since it's not really a step-by-step thing.

I'm sharing a scene file (.SCN), along with a matching ClothMotion settings file (.CFM). Also there's a screengrab of the various settings. With this, you can get started playing around with soft body dynamics type stuff.

The scene includes a cloth object, gravity object, and collision object. Load the scene, load up the ClothMotion tSx and from within there, load the settings file. If you run the simulation as-is, you should get a cube that falls onto a sphere and sorta bouncy-rolls down it onto the ground where it bouces a bit more.

TIPS:

- Gravity amount is determined by the scale size of the gravity object (Cone, in this case). Make it smaller for less gravity and larger for more gravity.

- Rename the file DeCubeWobble.TXT to DeCubeWobble.CMF after downloading.

- Play around with the settings. That's how I learned.

- Once you get a simulation you like, you can apply SDS to the cloth object.

Frank, are you using Clothmotion with tS7?

I got it to work initially but when I applied SDS to the final 'simulation' it just reset to a simple plane time and time again. Someone said it was not compatible with tS7 so I left it at that...

I remember the jelly cube animation, which was animated with clothmotion and rendered with vray. Not sure if it was actually animated in ts7, but vertex animation imports fine from 6.6 (according to frank) ;)

Actually I remember the jelly and another example that Frank posted during tS7 testing. I simply could not get it to work for me with a fresh scene. Maybe a little perseverance...

Well this one was done in trueSpace 6.6 BUT the finished vertex anim should load fine in trueSpace7. Now, the issue of getting Clothmotion to work in trueSpace7 Model side....hrm.... not sure why it won't do the SDS properly for you, since it should be just vertex keys and after that non-dependent on Clothmotion. I'll try and give it the once-over to see what can I find out... :)

Das ist correct. ;)
