I was very impressed with the two movies by Luis Saavedra . Some of it looks like traditional animation mixed with Truespace, but both are very impressive visually.

Hi Luis,

This is my first day on the forum. I loved your animated shorts that won in

Oct. 2006! You are very talented.

Did you do them completely with Truespace, or with other softwares too?

Thanks,

Tyler

Thanks for the feed back and I´m very glad you enjoyed them! We worked with truespace and photographs from the city of Valparaíso here in Chile and painted in photoshop.

I think snails are good for your health!

Hi Luis. I am a big fan of your animations. They inspired me to get the flash plugin. I would like to ask you, the characters in the latest winner animation, are they all done in truespace or did you draw them? I showed a friend your animation and he thought the sets were done in truespace and the characters were drawn. Is he right?

Thanks, yeah that's not referring to his most current winner though. I am wondering about the one with the guy in the yellow jacket, altair.

Sorry for the delay of this answer, but here it is; you friend is right, we mixed the drawings and the backgrounds in truespace, we use the flash plug in for the flying vehicles mostly, althogh we have to make 2 different videos, one with movement and another with the vehicles with the flash plug in.

I hope you find this information useful!

Luis,
Does your Studio use TS 7.5 animation capabilities yet? I would love to get your feedback on it if you guys use it yet. To get it into the Professional Market
place Caligari really needs to get feedback from the upper echelon too. Your input would only make it better.

hi Steinie, yes, we are using TS 7.5 to animate a lot of things, mostly fast flying vehicles, and it´s great to work with, we´ll have more scenes from this TV pilot very soon and I would love to show them in the forum.

We are vey glad to help and create feedback to TS, so anything you want to know just ask!
