THis is because even those who own the free trueSpace3.2, and who are therefore not Caligari customers and do not have a username and password, are eligible to enter. And forums, naturally, are their own sign up (and not all people who are customers, or who download tS3.2, may want to sign up for the forums). This means it is unavoidable that the gallery entries are a separate sign up from those other groups. You use your email to sign up for gallery entries, so that's easy to remember - and then nothing stopping you using the same password for your gallery entry as you use for Caligari purchases and / or the forums, so again that can be easy to remember.
