Since I've been back, I've noticed the courses below the various forum entries. However, all I see is comments and nothing about what the course entails or what/where/how/why it is.
Some sound interesting, just wish I could see them.
Or is this a pay course/invite/tS 7 only thing? |

These are pay courses, they are accessed from the front page under Training. If you are interested in one of them ask a question about it in the appropriate thread, someone who has purchased the course will give you an answer. I have purchased many of the TS 6.6 courses over the years and have added a couple of the TS7 courses also.
Some of them are very good, some IMO are not so good.

Those are just dedicated areas to discuss the various courses. You can find out about what each (purchasable) course entails\contains here:

Have you ever purchased one before? More than one? If not you may not have gotten a fair impression of them all.
Some are useful for beginners and others for more advanced users. The ones on scripting for TS7 and texture creation (good for all versions) I've found especially useful.
Fact is, they've saved me hours of reading and experimenting and given me some creative ideas.
Actually, some get a little heavy and I have to watch them a few times to understand and others are quite simple which a person totally new to trueSpace would benefit from.
My favorites so far are the architecture course and the texture creating course but I'm also quickly reaping the benefits of the scripting courses which are short but also reasonably priced.
if you look under the training page don't forget to go to the master courses tab. |

Well, maybe...
It is still of my opinion that if you have all these goodies you claim your software can do, then make tutorials that come with the software. Not for cost, but included in the software.
It's like there 3 zillion steps to model a head, texture it, uv map, displacement, subdivision, blah blah...
but
not
one
tutorial...
Again, I point to the GameSpace tutorials by 3DBuzz. This is how to do tutorials and it was free!
Don't get me started on tS and it's 5billion buttons with no tutorials with the software again. :D:D:D |

You'll hurt Oliver's feelings...
20 MB Head Modeling Tutorial (Complete set (http://217.194.236.37/global/downloads/olli/head_ts_complete.avi))
-or- Part 1 (http://217.194.236.37/global/downloads/olli/head_ts_part1.avi) - Part 2 (http://217.194.236.37/global/downloads/olli/head_ts_part2.avi) - Part 3 (http://217.194.236.37/global/downloads/olli/head_ts_part3.avi) - Part 4 (http://217.194.236.37/global/downloads/olli/head_ts_part4.avi)
Some sound interesting, just wish I could see them.
Most if not all of the courses have one section that is a 'Free Sample"... look for the red text.
I'd agree that some are a bit long in the tooth... but still relevant if you have an older version of tS.
My favorites were the NURBS and architecture courses. |
