PPFX is a really cool utility. No shadows due to post processing but very fast to render.


Pyrocluster was the other option a few versions ago but was only compatible with versions before tS6 (though some workarounds were possible for tS6 if I recall). It was capable of shadows but at an extreme price to rendering.


Somewhere out there you may find a realy good bunsen burner tutorial as well for PPFX.


Make sure you grab shaderlab 2.4 while you're at the above link... it's an excellent shader utility that allows you to make your own shaders with a little scripting. Also comes with a lot of great presets. Talk to Tom Grimes for more info on that! He's a Pro at shader design among other things.

if you have version 5 you can instal pyrocluster into that then move all the files to the 6 (or 7) folder and it still works, you might be able to make a folder called 'Truespace 5' and see if it installs, your right about the rendering times though, i did an explosion in it once and it gave me a projected rendering time of 20 hours for 6 seconds of animation, it was a big one though
