There's other photos of Caligari personnel in that folder as well - most likely those who didn't hide quickly enough when they saw Roman with the camera in his hand! :D

Remy is who you've probably spoken to if you've ever phoned customer support, & I think Chen is 1 of the Devs. I don't know who the other 2 people are though.

... So, I guess to do this properly, I need to first ask Jukka Korhonen (I'm not sure what your avatar is, sorry >_<) if I can use your butterfly image ...

Dude. You're more than welcome to use the 'New Wings' image. Better yet, here's the original .scn file:
(Just remember to credit me if you post it on other forums/websites than here.)

With textures (22.7MB):
http://www.loadusfx.net/butterfly.rar

Without textures (3.54MB):
http://www.loadusfx.net/butterfly_no_tex.rar

The rendered image was done on 3.2 and the enviroment mapping used to create the 'dream' effect on the moth does not work on 6.6, or at least I was not able to do it. :D And, when you render it out, don't be amazed if it doesn't come out like in the final picture - the final render is mixture of different render passes done on various settings and lights.

Sorry if its not the better place to put this image.. but.. i want to show my hair system!! jejeje and how good looks roman with a punk style!! How very true, that punk look does look very good I wish I had hair like that, I do. The light and render also looks excellent, almost good enough for a Gallery win:)

I'm glad that in the Evolution of Life your back up to the "I want to be a Hippie" level...
I found that if you take TS 6 and TS 7 , rub them together you get Fire!!! Cave Men called it a bridge...
I looked up "flattery" too, I just don't want to do that to another man...."Roman your porcupine hair really looks beautiful today, what kind of softner did you use..."
yechhhhhhh

I AM still actively pursuing the creation of a good Roman Avatar, although as many of you may have noticed I've been somewhat distracted by pursuing the ISS Station creation here in the "1st Collaboration Team" thread.

I am a veteran 3D Modeler, but my TrueSpace skills are truly "newbie-level," so taking on the creation of a realistic human head from scratch is TRULY a challenge for me of the highest order!

Nevertheless... I will stick with this challenge until I make an Avatar both Roman AND I will be proud of... no matter how long that takes me! :D

Prodigy's Avatar is AWESOME... hopefully mine will eventually be nearly as good... we'll see! ;)

Bummer! I had the same thing happen to Roman's body. You may want to contact support. Norm was able to help me (and saved Roman ;)), but my solution is only available to proTeam members currently, so you may have to mail the file to their support people.

I'm working on my speed challenge entry today, but if you can find the *.rscn or *.ritem files that correspond with the model, I can probably convert them to *.cob and send them back to you.

Hi Roman, and sorry this took me so long.

Here's a compromised (quality versus polycount) version that may just meet your needs. ;)

This one is only 907 Polys.

I wanted to make an avatar that would be recogniseable even without textures, but soon discovered that an animatable avatar (under 1000 Polys) is definitely difficult to make "recogniseable" in any way. I'm still working on a much nicer model but it will certainly be high-poly and not suitable for your intentions with this project (It will easily take me 2 months more anyway!).

I appreciate the opportunity you all gave us here for a little fun, and hope somebody's version here will work out for you.

Best wishes to all...

I posted the COB file below those two images on my last post.

I forgot to mention that the 907 Polys DOES include both eyes with the head.:D

Enjoy!

You beat me to it Prdigy, that's the first thing that sprang to my mind! It's from the fantastic Electric Cafe album and Music Non-Stop single/video. They still use versions of them in their live shows. Even if you don't like Kraftwerk, their back projections are a visual feast for 3D artists and a master class in timing for video editors.

Getting carried away... I now return you to your scheduled avatar building...
