Hi Roman,
I decided to finish this model I started with proper UV Map work and some poly adjustments to make the model more perfectly in line with the reference photos you supplied. I'll be modifying the model to include a trans-mapped hair section above the forehead for more realism.
If all goes according to plan I should have it finished for you this week.;)
I can add a body if you like as well, which would be very easy in comparison to making an accurate representation of the subtleties of a human face.
Eyes and right side are nearly done, left side and hair follows soon.

Prodigy,
The larger the letters the louder your yelling. At least that how I always took it.
The Avatar head I made of Roman looked like a box opened at Christmas time by my kids!!! Not a pretty site. I need another tutorial!!!:)
I think you had a very nice one being created and you should post it. I wish Heidi posted her's too because she had a great low poly version turning out very nice.
3dvisuals dude has a nice version. The problem I see with his is on Roman's left side of the face. Something doesn't look right.
I remember a bunch of others saying they would post too. |

We and on any spanish forum or chat.. the capital letters means you need something be remarked.. the same like the bold letters. or, just you like the capital letters...
if you need to yelling to somebody just its enough on what you say..
I mean TAKE CARE!!!
that doesnt mean TAKE CARE STUPID!!
Its the same like TAKE CARE DUDE!! :)
But cos we only write, and nobody see my face, or if im screaming, yelling or just talking something .. theres when works what that means for each of us Capitalize a word..
That simple... ;)
For example look this forum, they are talking about animals.. (http://www.latin-foros.com/discusiontema18217.html)
Look are 2 guys with BOLD and 1 with CAPITAL LETTERS.
They are talking...
un hermoso gatito, además que ellos duermen mucho y no notará la falta de ustedes, eso si cuando lleguen deben darle todo el cariño que en el día no tuvo, los gatos son limpios y bien enseñados, ideales para departamentos.
A beautifull kitten, by the way they sleept a lot and they never notice your are not there, but when you came, you must give love plus the day you doesnt give to him. the cats are clean and are well educated, the best for apartments..
See?? i think that guy are not yelling "sorry it was a girl" |

Prodigy,

The way I've always seen it depends on the intent that is given by the writer. Normally, I would see it as yelling, but in Prodigy's case, I understood his intent, which was emphasis, if I'm correct.
For example, you could write:
GO AWAY YOU #@%$!!!
or you could write:
Please, I would like you to GO AWAY. |

Lol im just talking with a good friend over a chat (spanish but he are making a master on english) and i ask about this trouble..
I'll try to translate that small conversation:
ME: I get few troubles posting on the forum cos i write with big letters, whats the problem??
And he respond.
of course you're having problems with them!, of course you're having problems with them! You should apologize.
----------------
Never think that it was so serious.. :(
I apologize if i ofended someone, now i understand why TomG tolds me stop using capitalized letters.. :( |

Language is an odd thing, we think we understand what the other person means but sometimes we don't!
For many, the large letters are yelling - kind of "my point is more important than everyone else's and I will draw attention to it by making it large", which is the same in the spoken word "my point is more important that everyone else's and I will draw attention to it by speaking so loud no-one else gets heard."
Of course large letters are just large letters, but they have come to acquire the "shouting" or "yelling" by convention (or more accurately, convention for some people with some languages, not all).
The same is seen with punctuation - lots of punctuation means kind of "super excited and over the top". So to say "I don't know what you mean?" is just to ask a question, but "I don't know what you mean???" kind of makes the question into "I don't know what you mean, what on earth are you talking about, you crazy person?" :)
Now different languages DO have different punctuation - like the "upside question mark" (sorry, I don't know the name for it though I am sure it has one :( ). And so again it is just a convention that only some languages have.
The problem with conventions is when different conventions meet, and the one side mis-understands the other, which happens every now and then.
The solution - both sides can try to better understand the other and their conventions, and both sides can try to adapt and learn and grow :)
Ok, internet-typing-speak class is dismissed for today! Don't forget to do your homework! We now return you to the avatar thread.

I guess we better come up with some deadline otherwise Prodigy may claim with some justification his prize for great avatar he created. Should we wait till TS7.5 is out so some of you could try its new character editor? |

Hi Roman,
First, I'd like to thank you personally for playing such an active role in these forums in general, and specifically for allowing us all the opportunity to attempt the creation of a realistic low-poly (animateable) avatar for you.
Trying to produce a worthy Avatar for you is truly an honour for us all, and regardless of the difficulty of the task I'm confident that eventually one of us will create a great one for you as our way of saying "thanks" for all that you have done for each of us.
My own version has undergone numerous revisions since I first started it due to the fact that creating realistic organic 3D structures like a human head are an entirely new thing for me, though I've been modeling for many years. I also found that while I can easily handle UV texturing and mapping for non-organics, a good mapping strategy for a realistic avatar is a daunting task for me... I think I'm on version 12 of that particular effort right now!
Easter, of course, interrupted the effort for me as I'm sure it has for others here. Nevertheless, the effort remains a high priority for me as I'm certain it does for others here as well.
As far as waiting until TS7.5 and our new Character Editor tool is available for the effort, it seems to me that the ultimate objective of this effort for all of us is to produce something worthy for you to be proud of and use daily, so any deadline imposed on the effort until that day occurs all by itself may only serve to bring the effort to an end before the objective is genuinely reached.
Granted, I came into this effort very late indeed so perhaps it's not my place to say these things here. I have put many hours in so far with many more to go on it though, so I suppose that qualifies me for some response anyway.
I see this as your Community trying to give you back something great for all that you have given us, so I think leaving the Project open to the entire Community including the many New Forum Members who will soon be purchasing TS7.5 is therefore a good thing, regardless of when that day finally comes when you see an avatar here you are genuinely happy with.
I assume I speak for all of us here when I say we will only be happy with the avatar that you are happy with, regardless of which of us creates it or when that day eventually arrives.
In the meantime we all have an equal challenge, and an equal honour.

Hi Roman, I think a deadline or at least a timeline could be useful especially if you need it by "x" marketing date. I'd like to wait until after 7.5 is released though since I think we'll see a lot more entries.

Now that 7.5 is out, thought I'd give this thread a little ba-bump. ;)
Anyone else out there want to give modeling Roman in 3D a shot?
