Just wanted to add my own excitement to the mix. Truespace7.5 is either the Real Truespace7 or it's Truespace8 in disguise. It is clear that the new software platform that you guys have developed from scratch is going to go farther than I would have imagined. |

guys, most of you don't need to stay at night up.... better save coffee for the time you get email with download link :D.
those who remember 7.0 release know that download e-mails don't go at once to everyone, there is some load balancing present... it really can take some time before you are chosen from the list... |

okay, to test bigbigblue's theory:
I am in the Eastern US time zone, and the current countdown is 12 hours; it is currently 11:40 AM here.
Anyone around the world care to sound off the countdown clock and their current time? (within the next few minutes of course! )

I think you will find it finishes at midnight local time for everyone. The countdown is done in Flash, so I assume it picks up the clock of the client machine, rather than Caligari's server.
Bigbigblue
You're right. The countdown clock hit 00:00 on my machine nearly 28 hours ago for me. I'm at UTC + 12, California is 21 hours later - if I've got my time zones right that is;)
It's now 3:46 am Tuesday morning for me :D |

Well I reckon it's now 9 am Monday 7th May in the Caligari office - lets hope someone from Caligari can post how the launch will be handled and put us all out of our misery :jumpy:

Before all the Champagne corks start popping and Noise makers start blaring... I'd like to take this moment to thank all the Beta Testers who put in a lot of their own personal time and effort to help make TrueSpace a 3D Application we all can be proud of! Everyone of us who followed TS development in the Forums over the last Year will be thankful to ALL of you as we utilize that part of the code you helped shape. Our payback to you will be our new abilities to bring our dreams and visions alive. Enjoy the moment!
The Users. |

I second that Steinie! Thank You Beta Testers, and of course, all the developers, sales reps, tech support, customer support (Remi! :p ) and of course, Roman (and Bibiana! ) for making it all possible. And don't forget: the Users that put in all the requests for features, and one last person (but definitely not least): Splinters, for the extensive work on the new icons.
This sounds like a Oscar award speech I know... I'd like to thank the Academy... |

Even though I've been testing, I'm just as excited as you guys. :) I can't wait to see what you all think of it. I personally think 7.5 is great and I have a good feeling a lot of you will agree. It really is quite amazing how much the devs have been able to do in just a year. :) |

Hi all,
First, the release will not happen precisely on any given hour. So please, no waiting up for a specific time to come by!
Next, the countdown is primarily for those who want to order on pre-release pricing, because that does end at a specific time.
Next, even once the release starts and download emails go out, it could be over 24 hours before you get your email. Everything is staggered and staged to avoid overwhelming the server, and we have a lot of people to get through, so that staggering could put people over 24 hours apart, maybe more, before downloads become available.
So please, do not sit there at your computer hitting Send / Receive in your email in hope. Go about your normal business and check in your mail as you normally would, to save disappointment! :)
EDIT - As a PS, the countdown is being removed today, as always intended, since it is Flash and running on local time only :)
Thanks!

Cheer up Nowhere - the only thing more fickle than a 12 year old girl is the release dates of new software. I don't think I've EVER seen a new software package released when expected. It will happen when it happens.... |

In the meantime, we can all indulge in the exsquisite feeling of antici......(wait for it).........pation. Ain't it nice to have something to look forward to? :) |

This is what I envision happening right now at the Caligari Headquaters...
Roman was just presented a beautiful watch hand crafted by Prodigy. (he doesn't know what time it is because it DOESN"T WORK)
Roman drops to one knee and holding Bibiana's hand says" We have given everything we have into making this next version of trueSpace the best it's ever been and to show my appreciation I want you to have the first copy"
Bibiana looking in Roman's eyes (that look like they were rendered using sss) replies, I have worked on trueSpace 7.5 night and day this is the last thing I want to look at...I want CASH!:D
Just then TomG burst through the door yelling" Do you know what time it is...!!!" |

You're hyperventilating Bob.
Better have a lie-down on the couch and breath slowly into this paper bag. |
