Ok, that makes more sense now. I was confused by the missing info.

Was beginning to think I was living a scene from "A Scanner Darkly" movie for a sec. Trippy movie makes me doubt my own sanity for a bit after watching it today. Live footage rotoscoped to appear as graphic novel style. Think I'm still untwisting my brain after watching that one!

Note to self: Stay away from pretty blue flowers. :)

TS 7.5 is on the visible Horizon and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Roman and all his staff for keeping us informed using the Captain's Blog.

The vibe is in the air that this release will be Roman's crown jewel and the new future of Caligari. All the information you have provided so far has confirmed it. Good luck with your roll out.

Workspace V-Ray/DX9 Material editor

Workspace UV Editor

both of these are listed here:

There either too boring to talk about or their not that good?...I and many others requested many times information about these two features.

Heck it's so close to delivery a shadow puppet show would do...

Heck it's so close to delivery a shadow puppet show would do...Well, they may not be as exciting as new character editor but they are not boring. We added 5 new TS7.5 pages on Friday and we will be adding more pages this week, I will make sure that new UVE and ME are covered.

Thanks for your kind words about TS7.5 being a crown jewel. I am not sure is in "mine" crown jewel but it is the future of Caligari. We put a lot of effort into TS7.5 and you will see we listened to you guys this time, which we could not do at TS7.0 release while we were changing all the plumbing. Plumbing is there now and TS7.5 brings a lot of new features and benefits with it. Nowherebrain is right, the best way to thank us is to order 7.5 upgrade. I would go even further and and say that $299 TS6 to Ts7.5 upgrade is a "nobrain" upgrade:)

I just have to say that the voiceover work in the latest Captain's blog videos may be the funnieest thing I have heard in a loooooooooong time. Pure gold.

Yes, Roman, you're mad!! It's official! LOL!! I got a good laugh from both movies, particulary the one with the ant eater in it. Have saved a copy of them to my computer to keep. Pure gold!!

The Ant Eater being moved realtime while the other character is doing it's animation is a classic :D Very humorous.

I guess I need to re-download...I usually have the volume off when watching 3D videos. I find it distracts from what is happening on screen.

I have not followed this thread as I should have, so excuse me if this has been brought up....

What will become of the BLOG after the 7.5 release...I hope the saga continues. I hope it does not fade away...it would also be an ideal spot for Roman to build a new features poll, based on the user requests.

Are you refering to the thread or a poll? If poll, then I was meaning for Roman "O" to start it and base it upon the requests in the feature suggestions. Then the features we want will be voted on by us...we would have no one to blame but ourselves about the new features...though that is no likely, people like me will always find someone else to blame....it's my gift/my curse/my burden to bear.

a website that does this - www.wishlistcentral.com I have PM'd Roman about using this if he wants to, if not we can always set up a user list of "things we want :-)" It has voting etc.. its generic for many products at the moment.. I set up a Vray product, as I had a wish for it :-) You can all just register and add anything you like.. I thought it best to wait until TS7.5 and Vray 1.5 are released though..

I hope this is taken the right way, but one of the last two videos (with the ardvark) from Roman - posted in his Captain's blog and on the '7.5 selling features video' portion of the website ), do not do the program justice. Having a character jump around with voice-over makes it sound like a toy rather then a powerful program. I was a little taken aback that the videos were released as such. I know people are protective of Roman and are going to say it is 'cute' and 'fun' but this is my opinion only, so please take only as constructive criticism only - Roman has done and can make better vidoes and that particular one looks like he is selling to a child rather than users. But hey, it is his company, I guess he can do what he wants.

Just my 2 cents.

No, I agree. I'm not concerned with it necessarily. I just do not think it is doing them justice in a marketing aspect.

@xmanflash: Well the point is that it should be a local poll, and another membership makes me want to vomit....besides what would be the point of farming out something you could do in house?

I wonder if anyone notice that the ardvark was totally being animated in real time? Getting smooth motion and refining them has never been easy, well until now that is :).

I understand your points, but experience shows the wishlist is better placed to concentrate users wishes, instead of them be all over a forum that will never be a good place to get a quick snapshot of what people want. I know - I have tried it, and its much more efficient.

Each entry for instance has a link-back to a forum thread available, and is designed to co-ordinate with the much more in-depth thread details.

I can allocated Mod status to members of this forum who are prolific and trusted, so that there is a spread of talent and timezones are handled better than just me in australia.

There is a 'secret' backend login for official Company reps, where they can see a prioritised list of what people want, much like the Poll you suggest, plus I can add any functionality people request, time permitting, something that forum tools by their architecture, and upgrades do not allow easily.

If Roman provides the tools to do it here then great, I don't see them here at the moment - so I am offering something free, that already exists and I pay for personally, and while it has taken me a few months to develop for everyones benefit, would only take you a minute to join, bile or no bile :D

btw: re the Aardvark demo, I think its starting to show that (when 7.5 ships) Roman really needs a holiday ;)
