Just looked at the new Captain Bloog's post and the first image has really caught my eye. I can't help but see a huge resemblence between the new TrueSpace 7.5 interface and the one employed by 3D Studio. While it looks cool, I have to admit, it looks daunting too! Having been with TrueSpace since version 1, when I invested in a copy of version 5, I was lost on the interface changes in it over version 2 (the version I was working with at the time). When TrueSpace 7 was released, it was a real interface departure, but to me, version 7.5 seems to be an even bigger departure again. Caligari, prehaps you should rename 7.5, to 8!!
I just hope that the user manual that will ship with 7.5 will detail all these new sliders, tick boxes, drop down menus, etc. It's looks great and I await eagerly for news of its release, but it looks scary too!!! |

It is true that look is darker but layouts and workflows on existing functionality are much more TS6 like than TS7. Of course there is all the new stuff:) |

Well, I have to admit, I'm very impressed with what I'm seeing. In the recently released video, I love the new text tool too, that's going be a real time saver to work with.
I have money put aside to jump ship when 7.5 ships. I've seen enough to know I want it, no matter how scary it looks to me ;).
And point taken, Prodigy, about what version 8 will probably be. It's just that version 7.5, to me, seems like such a huge step forward over what I've read and seen of version 7, that it could almost consitute a full point upgrade. |
