If we are doing this for truePlay then it means everything has to be low poly. I think if we are going to do this for truePlay then at least one of the rooms should be high poly so that we can render images of it. Then we have some high quality images and the realtime stuff. |

Dele.. well we must move our feets!! ehehehe.. or jump a little.. :D
Well.. lets clean a bit this amout of ideas..
1) we gonna have a crystal dome with plants....
2) we gonna have lot of windows..
3) the ISS must have 1 or 2 levels..
4) must be Low polygon..
Optionals
1)make a external robo arm to do things ) who know what things..:D
2)External and internal cameras conected to the hall.. like security cameras.. |

OK folks... I'm game! ;)
Here's a new twist on your ideas too... a Dimensional Portal.
I've been deep into working on the Roman Avatar project and need a slight diversion occasionally in order not to burn out on the sheer intensity of that project, which for me won't be concluded until I succeed with it as stated.
This does look like a fun diversion for me though, and should be very easy for me by comparison.
I'm in... but I have an idea on what I'd like to start with first, and this can be attached modularly to any given Space Station Design (I love Methusela's, btw). :D
Attached is an image comprised of a montage to convey my idea... let me know what you think about the idea, the images and models are all mine but it's the concept I want feedback on.
Thanks...

Here's a quick idea of what we could do outside of the space station. Have an environment sphere mapped with stars and an Earth object. We could have them rotate like in the scene below to give the effect you're orbiting in space. The attached scene was just whipped up quick to demonstrate the idea. I used Clinton's interactive Earth object which I think would be perfect for this project. With better lighting, Clinton's Earth can produce cool day and night effects. :) |

Fantastic ideas from everyone so far! 3D Visuals, those images look amazing! Do you have a link where I can see them in high res? I like your idea as well. I also like Matski's ring with the stuff inside, and I had forgotten about the physics involved, so while it may not be as easily modular, Matski's may be the best design, simply because the gravity is unidirectional.
I have a few more elaborations, but they'll have to wait a few minutes, I've got to go work out! |

Well Prodigy, your idea has sparked the imagination of many :) I have been making some clumsy TS sketches in which I try to reconcile some of the ideas that have passed today; the triangular sketch I used as a start, then the domes suggested by Methusela, which became orbs, or spheres, the ring suggested by Matski007 etc. To combine everything in the best possible way is what Prodigy meant, I think, creating a suite of rooms to fill with stuff, and decorate with strange objects, or landscapes as suggested by 3dvisuals. Of course with added interactivity, as suggested by Délé.
I came up with a ring with 3 spheres, basically still very geometrical, but, when turned 33 degrees, you can connect it with another similar ring (2nd image), ad infinitum. So still modular. The corridors (ring) need all kinds of doors, lights, locks, decorations, and can be segmented, they have 2 levels, like an airplane. The spheres can be landscaped and filled with different biotopes, or whatever else (which I tried to illustrate with the separate, cut-out orb).
Sorry for the simplicity of my sketch, but, I'm not a speed modeling crack (or any kind of crack for that matter). Hope this adds a little to your inspiration.:o |

I like, although (not wanting to push my idea lol) If it was a ring in sections like Startopia, it would allow for more rooms.
Coming up with a little sketch myself, upate in a min |

:D now i cant say nothing about lazy town!! hahaha..
What think about make a fast design challenge then make a poll to choose the best...
Its not modeling.. or image quality or final render.. its only design..
You can submit draws or 3d.. you have untill tomorrow... 2:00 pm pacific time.. :D
We have few excelent designs.. lets see if we can find some more.. :) |

ok here is my go, basically the torus is split into many sections, these are what we can work on, the scale will be massive by the way, the center sphere will contain hills and be a simulated holographic forest of some sort.
Might rethink this, got another idea heh |

Well, that definitely looks great Matski007. I think you have found a nice synthesis of all the ideas, I certainly will not try to compete with you on that ;)
The massive scale will allow for quite creative art work, perhaps even architecture inside the sphere. If this project will attract other TS virtuosi like you, Methusela, Prodigy and others, this will be a very interesting environment to explore. |

hahaha, ur all so kind heh, actually gonna stick with design, just though, if we make the center sphere real big, then people who dont feel they have time to do loads of work, can send in bits of architecture like archways and pots and rocks and trees, anything, and we fill up the sphere with that stuff, whereas us who have more time can take on entire sections ourselves, but also add to the center piece, this would be the ultimate collaboration and im sure even James might like to add a little something, perhaps his evian bottles heh heh.
Thought Id post this too, it was me attempting to replicate a certain spacestation from star trek heh, never managed to texture it, texturing isnt my strongpoint |

Well, I like it a lot. It's nice and luminous. I have to stick to the simple things so I added a little sketch of a utility that might be needed when a sizeable community is going to live up there;) A recycling facility, just a sketch, looks a bit crappy, but I guess that's what it will always look like. You might have it float at some distance of your station, connected with tubes etc. It contains water and 4 environments through which air is regenerated, or something  |

Here is my entry...
4756
The black faces are windows.. sorry but realy i dont have much time ;)
The rooms with numbers can be the diferent continents.. and ther you can put anithing about your country.. or ... i dont know!! hehehe
The dome is in crystal.. and inside can trees, lot of green...
The roboarm place you can move the robo arm and see interacting with few easy commands..
By the way.. the orange spheres are simulating 2 power engines.. sorry  |

and as you can see is not a real model.. only is the volumetic model... |

That looks really good Prodigy. Perhaps a robo arm on both sides and a landing area in the middle for Parva's ship. Not to keen on the Forest Dome in the back, it might catch fire. |

Here are the pictures.. Are one image from burisman "desqualifyed" hhahaha because its imposible make the station as a tower.. ;) but its a good design..
And the picture from 3dvisuals dude its not a station desing but yes its a nice idea to be implemented on the station (the dimentional portal) :) thanks for join!!! :)
First choose thinking on the design, not the render...
Second... vote.. :D

Why I voted for Prodigy No 1.? Flattery? To return the favour? No. I think it does justice to many of the ideas submitted earlier, it has the domes, the corridor in which one can build a lab, and it is fairly practical, if a collaboration is going to be built on it. I hope, that this combination of your talents will persist however, because I really like the elegant forms of Methusela Nr. 2 and the intricate glass-house spheres and torus of Matski No. 2. I think it would be wonderful if these elements could come together. ;) |
