I just point what i think its important.. and again, dont know if that are supported.. but i never recive an answer.. and i dont want wait another 4 5 6 months and wait untill the last minute to see if, only if, that are supported or not.
I work with Truespace for a long time ago, and i can say for example how simple the mid mouse button make my work, and if that are not on the workspace, im gonna still modeling on 6.6 and i dont want that again like 7.11
Other point, i Allways use the Double Click to select an object.. that is not supported on the player side.. i dont feel confortable clicking once to move the selected object but as you over another object you select another object and move what you dont want to move..
Are the base of Truespace, and i like it.. i prefer that simple things on the new workspace than the new hair tools.. thats for sure..
Truespace 3.2 have animated textures (avi) Vray not??? in the second version??
I just need an answer..
When i brought my first version of truespace 5.1 i never talk with nobody from caligari, never ask for a bug.. then i jump for 6.0 .. then 6.5 and last 6.6.
on this i start to enter on the other forum as prodigy too.. but now i start to involve on the evolution of truespace.. and i start to brought any upgrade..
What i try to say??
If i wait 2 years to buy, maybe i just comming here.. see the ts spects. ask if have what i need... i like or not.. and continue with my life.. but i think im a loyal user, i follow the evolution of truespace and i dont have the minimun idea for what i buy!!
Just need few answers and i dont want to wait another 6 months again..
Imagine this.. The answer is not.. on the develop of the next release gonna happend the same thing.. no sorry NDA..
Thats no good.. no good.. |

Prodigy: I could make you a Background widget that is exactly like trueSpace6.6 in trueSpace7.11 right now. Infact I could add additional features to it to make even more powerful. Just tell me what you want and I will make it for you, with in reason. As for the rest of your wishes, don't you think it would be more polite if you contacted Caligari in person to express your wishes? It has been expressed in great detail about company policies. This forum is not the place to conduct bussiness. Come on Amigo! Don't worry, be happy! :) |

I was just working on that middle mouse rotate thing :D but my ts7.0 gives me problems like not noticing that the widget is active and I have to be careful or ts7 crashes on me which is one of the reasons that I don't do a lot of development with the nodes (just starts to get annoying).
The race is on!!!! hey that would be kinda cool to have an interactive script or node(connections) contest or race:D |

Good news Prodigy I've got it working (well at least the rotate around the object by holding down the middle mouse button) but I need to find a way to give it to you guys out there that will be as easy as drag'n'drop which I have a good idea :) not sure how to do an installer like Trueblue's helpful LE Navigator (sorry if wrong person). I wanted to do this from the start but kinda got accustomed to the navigation widget. |

Maybe you get TS for free, then you think are not esential. But i must pay for each upgrade.. for try to see if the bugs are fixed or not.. Thats a big problem..
And plus we dont know what caligari are doing.. fixing.. supported.. implemented... erased... we just dont know..
Just im worried about this.. I just see few screen shots.. few animations but the real software and the real test be when it be installed on my computer and see with my own eyes if i can do or i can't do what i need to do....
Tellme, you as a beta tester.. nobody test in 7.11 a camera can't reduce the size?? that kind of things i call it esentials..
Nothing personal Rich realy, but i like truespace to much and when i see something wrong i never shut up..
Hey Prodigy
Well, lets talk about free software :D
I test for TS 7.5 about 20-30 hours per week, yes I know, it is a lot of hours, it has become a kind of sick obsession for me... I have been testing TS7.5 like this since August 2006, that would be approximately 9 months, assuming each month has 4 weeks, that is 36 weeks. Lets say I make a whopping 5.00 per hour to test this software (which is incorrect because I do it for free)... we can use the 20 hour per week number for simplicity, that would be 100.00 per week, multiply that by 36 weeks and we get 3600.00 I am paying to get this free software that you describe :) So we on the active beta testing front are very committed to getting out a good product to you the user also.
Your opinion and voice is very well heard in the Caligari offices in California, I assure you. If you as a user voices your concerns here on these forums, if you can outline what you want and need, document something that is wrong and can walk thru the steps to duplicate it... it is seen in the Caligari Beta forums and in the California office, and there is a pretty good chance that Roman himself reads your concern also.
As far as what is being done with TS7.5, no one other than Roman can say for sure what is going to be in TS7.5, it changes on a weekly basis, things are being added and things taken out as they find new things.
Pictures from beta testers are not as dominate because most of us are knee deep in testing, or you spend hours modeling something and getting it finished out... than crash... everything is gone... now you spend many hours trying to duplicate the problem and documenting it so that a developer can see what is going wrong so that you, the user does not have to go thru the same thing...
Vray may get all of the things you need, maybe it doesn't... it is something that you can not predict at this point, I think Caligari is being quiet on what they can and will put into TS7.5 and Vray because if they find some extra time something like what you want, or another item on their list of to do items just may become part of VRay or TS7.5...
Silence may be deafening for you, and very frustrating I am sure... but read this message slowly and carefully, because no one is posting exactly what is in VRay and TS7.5 is good for you the user too, it means they have not cut the chance for something to be added (and unfortunately deleted if it is too complicated to get done by release).
So in closing I know you are not trying to be argumentative, or a troublemaker. You ask questions and you would like to get clear answers... unfortunately they may not come till TS7.5 is released... :D
So as Mr. TrueBlue says "Do'nt worry, be Happy!"
Talk to you soon.

Prodigy: If you absolutely NEED precise information on what is in the software before you buy it, you might just wait a couple of weeks after release. Then Caligari could tell you definitively what is in the release. Also, other community members would be able to tell you their thoughts on how the tools work. I know we all want the product right away, but if you need detailed info on what the software can do before you buy it, it's probably best to wait a short while after release. I agree with Caligari's position not to divulge too much before release. If they mentioned something, and it didn't make it in for some unforeseen reason, people would be extremely angry. They can only be 100% certain what will make it into the release, AFTER it is released.
It should ease your mind that some of the things you're worried about are possible in one way or another at the very least. :) |

Hi, and thanks Trueblue, Rich and Dele.
1) Dele i dont wait after the 7.5 release because i prefer the pre release price. ;)
2) Trueblue i realy apreciate your support, i know you are one those incredible talented guys making excelent scripts and you allways post here to help others.. Thanks!
Rich thanks.. :)
I just pointed what i feel important on my work, may in here knows i work very fast.. and that is posible on a 70% for the mid mouse button and double click.. I learn to work in that way from 5.0 and i think its a excelent point on truespace.. that are lost in 2 versions.. 7.0 and 7.11, plz dont miss on 7.5!!
Nothing i post everything i like to say.. Thanks to everybody and i cross my fingers to that simple things but IMO important things be implemented on this upgrade.
Im not asking to get clothsimulation or fat or dont know.. are few things from the TS user interface very very usesfull and few Vray basic standars..
Im proud to be part in this comunity.. Thanks !!!
Saludos mis Amigos! |

Don't Caligari still have their 30 day money back guarantee?
Seems the best thing to get pre-release pricing is to do that and if it really does not meet your requirements...get a refund...:)
Pretty sure you would agree that the upgrade price is a steal though and Vray 1.0 to 1.5 for $49...madness not to really.
What a lot of people miss...but others have clearly noticed, is that the LE allows for a lot of custom stuff to be produced. So, if it does not make ut for release, you may just find that it appears soon after.
An example; I made a head (as you know) and detached the eyes so they could be rotated. I asked trueblue if he could make it so the eyes always looked at you...ten minutes of work and he sent the scene back...very spooky how it looks at you. Look at all the recent head renders I posted-the eyes always look at the camera but I did not have to do any posing.
Genius... |

Splinters, i need to work with truespace, and i need be stable and have the esential tools.. dont want still using 7.11 model side to render with vray or modeling on 6.6 to get the workarround object grups bugs... I work for 6 months and i dont want still on that hole any more searching workarrounds and bla blalala..
About the eyes, i do the simple way "look at" over both eyeballs and looking the null object and thats it.. ;)
I allways use that i have on my hand, i dont know nothing about scripts, less in flash :D
Best Regards. |

Hey Prodigy, I would suspect the extra delay on the software release may be a good thing - lets hope so! |

If Animated Textures and Motion Blur do appear in Vray 1.5 I think you might become a hero, In my mind and hopefully Caligari's :-) |

If Caligari add "Animated Textures and Motion Blur", Roman and the caligari team gonna be the real heros, not me.. :) That must be clear..
Maybe caligari sometimes listen me a little, but just like other users requesting.. But the real diference between me and the others is i won by 1000 post ahead!! :D |

Good point the 30 day returns policy
I asked trueblue if he could make it so the eyes always looked at you...ten minutes of work and he sent the scene back...very spooky how it looks at you
The audio plays "Are you looking at me? You must be..." Internet stalkers :)
Yes that's why I'm excited about 7.5 it sounds like a full-on D3D version and absolutely every function one can imagine is possible with so many talented people in here. Ok this eyeball function is a bit weird but I like it :)
A web page with your eyes following the mouse cursor slipping shades off, very sophisticated update to the eyeballs-type cursors or the puppy whizzing around. The look of hurt when the user closes the page "Where are you going come back!" :)
