Just wanted to let you guys know that the free Inkscape app has been updated, with a couple of really neat additions.

http://www.inkscape.org/screenshots/index.php?lang=en

This is a handy vector drawing app (similar to Adobe Illustrator) that compliments trueSpace nicely.

Use it for things such as band-free gradient backdrops, texture generation, paths, etc. It's also really fun just to sketch with it.

Check out this image (keep in mind, this is a vector - so it can be scaled to any size without loss of quality).

[edited by admin: image too large. 800x600 max]

Hmm... I may have to check this out. I do a lot of vector work in Paint Shop Pro, but I've been unhappy with Corel's lack of support for that side of the software in recent versions... might be worth checking out another option for at least some projects.

Thanks, I use Xara, have you tried that, of course it is not free but worth its price in gold. The latest version does flash, pdf and photoshop exports.

frank - your reference image has disappeared due to the size it would appear - can you re-attach so we can see it?

Thanks

Nez: Steinie is right. Check out that link and you can see the picture I posted, along with some other nice ones.

I'll attach an image I did with the .45 version. Nothing fantastic, but I think it gives pretty good results with little effort. It's really useful for doing logo work and such.

Thanks for the tip, Behzad!
