ok, as loads of you know I'm no longer using trueSpace, various factors combined and I jumped to a couple of different software packages so.....

Up for grabs are all my old trueSpace meshes, I'm not going to use them again as I no longer have trueSpace installed on any of my machines but I'd like to think somebody may find them useful.

Here's the deal.....

I'll release them to the first person that asks and they will then have all (but slightly limited) rights to them - basically I'm happy for them to be used freely for non commercial projects as long as I get modelling credit but if their useage gets into the "real world" then I'd like it if a donation was made to a charity nominated by me - as the old aying goes, there's no such thing as a free lunch:)

This is a one off thing, the first person that asks gets the CD or a WinRar download with the files on - you may need to sort it out as there may well be a load of doodles and unfinished wips but all of the stuff I did with trueSpace is up for there. Please don't mail me asking if one particular model is included, if it's been on the forums, my web site or in the galleries here then it should be in this bundle

Or am I too late?

Definitely would love that if I'm not too late!

Good to see you back, Andy! Any links to your more recent artwork, by chance? Also, have you given 7.5 any thought?

It's on a sad note, it sounds, but still so glad to hear from you again Andy. Hope all is going well with you and yours.

nope you were not too late, in fact you were pretty quick off the mark - I've sent you a pm with a link to download the files

Yes, I've looked at 7.5 but I'm not going to comment here as I don't want to turn this thread into a "my software is better than yours" type debate. I've made the very personal decision that I'm best served by another company's software. Learning a whole new workflow was quite a big jump (but in my opinion well worth it) and to be honest it would take something very special from any company (let alone Caligari) to persuade me to change again :)

not even slighty sad - well not for me :)

I'm using different software these days and I would prefer it if someone else got to use the meshes which are just sitting on my hard drive.

not really back - it's very much a flying visit :)

recent modelling that's not covered by NDAs can be found here

click on the images and links, I can't take any credit for the renders though, all I did was build the models where I get a mention

Wow, thanks Andy! I'm going to see what I can do with these in Vray! :D

I know you said the models are just for one, but I just thought I'd ask, would you mind if I shared some of the models with others on the forums upon request, provided they follow the same guidelines as the ones I'm going to follow?

And as for being quick off the mark, I guess I just got lucky that I took my 15minute break at work at a good time. XD

Hi Andy,

I would really like to know the settings you used to make that realistic

paint on your cars. I am not having much success making that work for

me. Your car paints were great.

it's not really the material (that for the most part was just phong with a fairly high reflective value) but the image used for the global environment which provides the depth and highlights.

As long as I get credited for modelling and I'm notified of any commercial useage then no real problem -if you want to deal with requests that's fine :).

I want the models to get used but I don't want to see them being sold on Turbosquid or the like

Cammer, I posted a scene (free fake HDRI) which helps achieve the effects you describe presuming you do not have HDRI i.e. tS7.1.

Give it a go with the mettalic paint shader that is in tS6...:)

There's some extremely good stuff in here! It's cool to see how alot of these scenes were accomplished. It's also pretty fun to try them out in Vray. I'll post a proper list of all of the scenes and objects in the collection once I get a chance, then people who want parts of it or all of it can send me a private message, and I'll get them to you. Also I'll send a copy of Andy's e-mail address so that you can ask him about using them for whatever projects you wish.

Hi Splinters,

Thanks for the offer of your fake HDRI scene to show better car

paint effects. I am using tS6.6. Where is the scene located, I looked

at your web page, but didnt find anything related to the HDRI scene.
