Do any of you Beta-Testers know if the new animation tools in 7.5 will allow you to animate a spline path, or an array of objects around a closed path, or to be more specific could I animate tank tracks without a plug-in? Most 3D packages have this ability, even Blender. Also are their any improvements for effects animation?

hey bonehead. due to NDA requirements, the beta testers most likely will not be able to answer this. But perhaps the requirements have been loosened.

I've sent bonehead some private messages regarding the use of multiple spline paths, other than that and scripting I do not know of any alternative..can anyone out there give him a hand?

Do you mean the tracks on a tank or the tracks a tank makes on the ground?

or both?

He's been PM'ing me about it and my guess is both, but the origional question was the tracks moving along the roadwheels(the gears under the hull).

Hey guys, I'm talking about the tank treads. They have to follow a closed path or the path itself must be animated around the road wheels.
