Hi

I am new here and am very excited about the new 7.5 Release!

I have a few projects planned and wondering if someone knows where I can get a Photo-realistic earth and a basic human figure that is in Truespace.

I have found some great earth's but they are all in 3DS and MAX.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Made a Hi-def model of the earth is very simple..

You need a sphere, then you need a high definition texture from the earth..
then use Lightworks, mapped shader and over the Shines, add a texture for that shader.. Vray dont know if on the next release have mapped textures, but on vRay 1.0 you cant map shaders..

Black for the Earth parts, and white for the water parts.. and you can get shines on the water and matte over the ground.

Then add another sphere with a cloud textures with alpha.. and thats it.. you have a nice earth model..

You can rotate the external sphere "clouds" and you can animate too as the real earth..

hope that helps..

Prodigy (or anyone else for that matter), please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that you can import 3DS models into truespace, then save in the native ts format. I am not sure if texture coordinates are preserved though.

As for the basic human figure you could try 'make human' :- click here (http://www.dedalo-3d.com/index.php?par1=LXfPCglTkrz,lTGgoNOrrGozBFopRzR&sec=92bcb4a36945db4bac1b14a121b14093)

It makes quite reasonable humans and monsters and best of all its free!!!

http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=34I second that. :) You really should check out Clinton's Earth that trueBlue pointed to there. It's not only realistic but also interactive. It changes depending upon the lighting. Very cool.
