Quite suprised my head did not make it toa mention but I may have boo boo'd there by putting some in that used Hair from 7.5 which, with hindsight, would have been unfair. But one head was rather good and just used the standard 7.11 tools and LW engine...no hair.
Oh well...:o |

Just want to point out that the 'shiny goblets' pic that is credited to me isn't by me. I'd be happy to take the credit for it but I've never seen it before!
I've contacted Caligari to get it corrected as it's not fair on the real artist. |

I kind of wondered why you had a guy's name in the top left corner of the render! I thought it might be personal...:) |

Prodigy,
I'm not the judge but I did expect to see those guns blazing in this Months Gallery! Actually I fully expected them to win too. So your work is good enough for their ads but not quite good enough for the Gallery...doesn't make sense to me. The mystery of the Caligari Gallery continues...
No winners no second place again. Talent level at a all time low? NOT |

Yup... maybe because i send about the May 1 or 2, and the gallery entrys may are closed, so you can see on the next month.. or here (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=2026&page=15)
What ever.. the guns are not listed on the honorable mention.. but its Ok! i prefer leave that picture as the speed model contest winner :D thats more than enought for me. |

Steinie! its ok, and i understand your point, sometimes i feel the same..
(Sorry Roman)
But is a truth i dont have the enoght time to make a "specific" render for the image gallery i send what i have and what i like. Sure never with lvl of details as Wizard.. for example. but i read in other threads IG is better a low polygon count than well Excecuted works.
So, when you try once, try twice, try third... sometimes you feel down.. thats why i show more images on my thread than the Image gallery..;)
Changin a bit, I Talk with Andy before he post his Animation, and when i saw it, and allmost sure thats for a winner.. Its very complex, and its looped.. thats the best part.. :jumpy:
So well deserve Andy :)...
And Congratulations Steinie, for your pirate, so now you can also launch an attack to wizard's ships :D (Sorry my poor english)

The other day I was complaining to a company who hadn't sent my order for 5 months. Their reply to me started with "Dear Samantha..." I seriously thought they were taking the michael :) Then a few days later, I get an email from a different company saying "Dear Beth..." I was really confused! Now I get my image in the Caligari gallery, and my email address is Sandyjohn4d... Sandy? Sandy? Why does the world think I'm a woman?
Anyway, all jokes aside :) Thank you very much Caligari, and thank you for your congratulations everybody :) That animation really was a tough one to make, and I almost drove my poor girlfriend Rachel crazy after hearing that music on repeat day in day out.
Also, I must admit that I didn't make the basket ball animation, which was pretty cool.
Well done everybody for your animations and images. And thank you Prodigy for actually pointing me to the site.

Oh, so YOUR Andy:) Hey great job on the animation! It reminded me of "Babes in Toyland"
I think the second place winner also deserves a lot of praise too. I enjoyed both of them very much.
WWitch you almost had a Trifecta! Both of your entries were very cool.
W!zard, your fleet is coming along nicely I see. Hopefully their not mothballed too soon. Your modeling skills are just one of the things I enjoy about your work.
Emmanuel, You ARE an Asset! (I bet you are tired of hearing that) I like your style and your use of colors in your entry. (Besides starting with a good idea)
If I missed anyone it's only because I don't know who you are yet! |

OK guys, I am going to tell you all a true story on why I use "Steinie" on my work. (It's boring so you can stop reading here if you don't want to take a nap!)
There are TWO Robert Steinman's that live in NJ and both are Artist. This one is not me:
http://www.taminglight.com/html_pages/news_archive.html
(Wow just now I found he changed his name!) Well anyway I didn't want to mess up his business or confuse his customers so I picked "Steinie" as my Artist name.
I liked the sound and besides I like beer too! (I have a large beer can and beer stein collection and those little odd shaped bottles from the 50's are called "Steinie's) So you guys can really call me what ever you feel like.
Back to what's really important, the Gallery of Art by all of you.:) |

Cheers Bob, and thanks to everyone else for their kind words. Congratulations to my fellow honorable mentionees. I note there is something of a nautical theme and a toy theme this month. |

OK...I shall call you "Late For Dinner". We're having fish.
RE: the caliGallery
Really surprised there wasn't a winner... but I'm glad it's not me who has to decide.
My personal favorite had to be the 'Whale' image. I really like the color palette and subject matter. An Instant Classic(TM), in my opinion. Plus I have a fondness for rowboats.
W!zard's Ships are masterpieces of modeling. You should set up a Virtual Boatwright Shoppe and start selling those beauties.
Kate's 'Doodle' also had a good reaction from the viewers here at my house... nice ambiguity and depth. I know she pulled teeth to get the 'Gates' image done- nice and atmospheric. Lamps and fog and nightime lighting are an endless joy to achieve, I know because I've tried. Maybe you should have held this one back for the October gallery.
Vincenzo's 'Silver Goblets' ...Ooo...shiny things... I'd be interested to know your technique for modeling the puddles of water... Not an easy thing to do, I know, I've tried that too.
I'm not going to critique every entry as I'm a little short of time, but I did like all of them in one way or another.
In the spirit of positive thinking, I'd have to repeat:
"Since no one 'won'... that makes you all winners." |

I too am astonished that nobody won with any of those images. They are all great but I admit to also having a particular liking for the whale pic. |

There were a lot of great artwork this month! :D
But I have to agree that it would be nice if the forum name was included...even if I've seen the image before in a WIP I tend to go "who is that?" when I see the real names ;) |

Hey, just wondering if anyone's heard any information about the gallery?
I'm still waiting for an email confirming my win, and I'm still taking credit for the other animation with the ball in the city. Any changes going to be made to this? |

Hi Zeipher. It usually takes a couple days for the results to be posted on the website; usually around the 5th or so of each month, so it may be a day or two before you hear, I suppose.
Congratulations in advance!
