3min...well then it's a full length caligari gallery feature ;)

I just noticed something....the shaky dokumentary style you used (and I like)with zooming recembles what they do in the Serenity movie and the Firefly series. (which I bough a couple of days ago)

But they also added a out of fokus blur when they zoom in quickly that looks cool...is that something you might try?

I guess that could be done in the compositing (or whats it called) program as a simple gaussian blur?

I really love the shaky camera effect, but some of the scenes take about 10 mins per frame, and in order to have a good cam effect you need a motion blur of 10 frames. That comes to over an hour and a half per frame... something I'm not willing to wait for. I'll use it later in the animation though :)

or you could do what I'm doing, I saved all my old computers back to 286s, build a rendering farm and animate there.....I'm still waiting for my first animation started with TS2.0!;)

I really do admire the work your doing with this project! I would love to join in but my Mech would be in a recliner watching Football with a beer.

Anyone able to give me a quick Depth of Field tip? I'm trying to make the objects close to the screen sharp and the backgrounds blurry. This would be very helpful, as all I seem to be doing is making the whole scene blurry or nothing at all.

Bah, forget that! FINALLY figured out how to use it. Awful controls... this needs to be simplified. Anyway, I did it, made a test render, all really fast and good looking, then I render to file and it takes AGES on the real render. I'm guessing it creates an alpha map and blurs the black part, right? Well I left it for 15 mins and it did nothing. Just sitting there figuring it out. It's times like this I'm glad it's all low-poly. I really could do with a render farm. Ah well, I'll just have to cut out the motion blurring and depth of field and have it look slightly odd... shame.

What's going to happen? Will it hit him? Will he dodge it?

and the Oscar goes to .....Mr. Ego!!!!!!! Yeaaa Your the man!

I didn't know Truespace could do bullit time! ;) Clever use of camera angles too. I think you've got a winner so far. Just remember to get the ground shake into this movie, the audience wants more!

Thanks guys. This animation's really taking it out of me (Patience that is). The number of random crashes mid-rendering is becoming a bother. tS7 doesn't like Primal Particles all that much, so it just decides to delete the emmiters every now and then, lol.

I'm off to Germany on the Thursday of this week, so I'm trying to get as much done before then. I'm wondering how much of this animation I should keep posting, or should I just leave it for the gallery? More of a surprise?

Thanks for your kind words guys,

andy

What animator posts stills? Lol! I guess I'll have to keep posting the animations. At least untill I can't get them below 3mb.

Anyway, I am not giving up on this, I'm merely going to Germany for a week as a summer holiday :)

I was hoping to do a lot more to this before I left, but I was stuck in Wales today (Don't ask ) So I will coninue this after one week. Try not to go too far with your own projects guys, otherwise I'll miss everything and have to do some major catch up when I get back.

All the best!

Andy
