I don't even know how to get to the download area. And I've not had the email yet either...I guess they partied so hard they forgot to send them...

Well - https://cart1.caligari.com/ebuy2/enterdownloads.asp theres the link for the download area - as for emails - its just a case of waiting:o

I only see V-Ray 1.5 up so far. But I'd wait for the e-mails, they might change the files if there are last minute changes. No sense in downloading the wrong version.

Yeah, I see the order now at least...
Mind you, even if you could download it, what use would it be without a serial number...

Would be nice to be able to download and read the manual though

I thought point updates used your current serial number? ;)

I'm almost positive I got a different serial number for 5 and 6.6.

I just hope I get it today as I won't get a chance to look at it until after the weekend otherwise....

Yes, but not from 6.0 to 6.6.

Just like your 7.0 serial works with 7.1. ;)

Whole versions get new serials; point upgrades use the same serial.

So if you have tS7, then tS7.5 will use the same serial number. If you have tS6 (or earlier), you'll be receiving a new serial for tS7.5.

@Tom - Yes, I've been able to download and install 7.5, but it's now asking for the serial number, which I don't have!!

I've received no emails, and it's not in the PDF manual...when can I expect to get the serial number? It's torture having it on the computer and not being able to use it!!

Serial number is in the email - it is very important to set spam and junk mail filters to allow all email from caligari.com. Since these are system generated mails, they can appear as spam to junk mail filtering.

Check junk mail folders to see if it got moved in there. Unfortunately, you will need to contact customer services to get the mail resent and any problems resolved in case it is more than just a blocked / filtered email, and they are not open for another 3 hours yet :(

BTW, If you are a tS7 owner, then the same serial number can be used - serial numbers carry across until a whole point version :)

Thx for the quick reply TomG!

I just sent off an email to customer service, so I guess I'll just play the waiting game:rolleyes:

I always check my junk mail folder just in case, but there's been no email at all so far this morning.

Not trying to "whine", just excited, especially since I've got two days off from work and this would be an ideal time to learn the new UI:banana:

does anybody know when those who pre-ordered truespace 7.0 will be getting the 7.5 free upgrade link?

Hi all,

I'm not directly involved in the process of the download popping up in people's download pages. It sounds right that its there, but it's "locked" until your turn comes around - I am guessing that the unlock step triggers both availability and the sending out of the email at once, so you can see it before the email, but it counts as "not purchased yet"

I also have no direct knowledge of when various people (or groups even) will be getting emails. We'll see if we can get more news out to you throughout the day, so you at least know "today" "tomorrow" "next week" or whatever may apply.

Note that if we do give any of those figures, they will be best estimates only - we can only give out that sort of info if you promise not to mail an call us one minute after the time we estimated saying "It didn't show up!" :)

So I will see if we can provide any useful info on that - but it will need to wait for the office to open in a couple of hours.

Thanks!

Tom

had a feeling it'd be something like that to stop us all just getting the link and crippling the server.

thought I might get it pretty soon as the payment for my upgrade was processed in 2006 lol, the money was even taken out of my account, however my VRay upgrade fees have yet to be taken

On payments in 2006 - any offer that featured another product, such as purchase and get tS6.6 now and tS7.5 on release, is charged right away as you get product right away.

Only pre-orders with no product wait until shipping. Sounds like your 2006 pre-order would have been inclusive of another upgrade at the time, hence the charging at the time.

Same has been true for say a tS5.2 owner in recent weeks, they would be charged immediately on order as they received tS6.6 immediately.

If you then added V-Ray 1.5 as a separate order in recent weeks, it would not be charged, as you did not receive anything yet :) The charging process is underway though, so expect that charge to appear on the statement any day.

I had TS7.1 before I purchased the upgrade, so I was charged only for an upgrade

First Impressions ? WOW !!

Being able to actually walk around in your creation is unreal. On top of this, you can edit it while you walk around in it ! The movement is extremely slow compared to truePlay - but I may be missing a setting.

The friendly interface is back.

Awesome.. simply awesome.

Yeah, in the LE there is a node called "Fp properties". You can change the speeds and other FPN settings. :)

any chance of some screenshots so oogle at? wondering, how hard is it going to be to get used to this over the old? is it all quite similar? ie boxes around select model to transform and buttons in similar places with similar icons?

First impresion.... Well .. welllwell..... :D

Ok.. lets start...

1) The General Look its Preaty... very nice indeed... much better than the Player look...
Points ~ 9.5

2) Mouse Interface Very good!! i dont have any complains... Just left add a right click when you pick a face.. but nothing too necesarely at all on this version
Points ~9.5 maybe 9.9 ;)

3) Icons very clean.. maybe are a little mixed positions but its ok...
Points ~ 9.5

4) Cameras An Lights... Dont like... and you cant change to wire separately from the mesh.. i prefer the wire lightw from the model..
Points ~ 3 points..

5) vray render.. "i found a small bug but nothing to worried at all.." First impresion, dont like the Vray Render Window when you need to render an area... i will explain better on another thread BUT good catch to add this window to full renders... Very Good nop... EXCELENT..
10 POINTS

6) Undo.. Dont like the undo works too on your perspective position.. and not only on your model changes.. so if you move to much your location you loose what is real needed .. undo your changes on your model.. But its cool have this new Real undo on truespace... so i give a 7.
Points ~ 7.

7) New UV tool..Loks Good..
9 Points...

8) First Person Navigation on Player.. Good point too..
9Points..

So i can give my opinion all the night long...
So i just give my Final conclusion...

Its a Biiiiig jump from 7.11 Player side.. Are few things, can be better but nobody can expect all in life, (even than me :D).. So 7.5 has the tools and funtions to make happy from the most newest Users.. to the most advanced...

So Congratulations CALIGARI you pass with EXCELENT my hardest test hehehehe:jumpy:
