not really sure where to put this as it's not a truespace tutorial but something i think might be of intrest to anyone with a digital camera and photoshop. A tutorial on how to make HDR images:

Great ... jayr :) I was wondering how to do that, and had almost resigned to the fact that buying HDRI's was the only option. Thanks for posting it here.

i was looking into that too, the price is quite high though for some. Not sure how to format them in to the cross or panoramic shape that ssem to be standard for use in 3d though.

I followed your second link (thanks again) into the tutorial part (I can't give the link since they are using a frame-based layout). There they are basically treating the different layouts that you can create using the software. The "Cube Map", or "Vertical Cross" is one of the things that you can convert your image into, using HDR Shop, but it also seems very feasible using Photoshop or other graphic software, since it is basically mirroring parts of the image to create a cube. I will give it a try ;)
