Just got back from the party, and boy are my ears tired! :p
I think someone should have just borrowed the code from "second life".
Did anyone else have some interesting experience at the party they'd like to share? |

Didn't win :( Mind you I never win anything...
Still don't have TS7.5 yet :( Maybe tomorrow
Was fun tho. good speech from Roman even though I didn't hear it. That was a little disappointing. |

Didn't get there. TruePlaces wouldn't connect (hung up at Connecting), then froze altogether (had to use Windows Task Manager to kill the app).:(

Yeah, the sound was a bit harsh. Looks like we need a way to mute people but still allow them to listen.
Aside from that though, it was a fantastic turnout. It was great to see so many familiar names from the forums. :) |

Yes it was! Now we just need to get the real party started so all of us have 7.5 and we can start seeing all those great WIP's that we all know are just around the corner! |

This was the first event that I've attended online.
Yes there were the problems with audio (and someone playing some music) but all the more rich the memory.
I was very excited at the possibilities of collaboration since this noob need some serious help with the TS ropes!
I'm also excited at what the future holds to truePlay - I for one will be more active in checking it out for events (is there a thread somewhere on what events take place on what nights?).
All in all, I was happy to "see" some of the forum regulars, was great to congratulate the winners for the door prizes (lucky stiffs! )
The Caligari team, thank you for the wonderful work and labor of love that is trueSpace 7.5 - I think I can say with all honesty, there's a whole community in gratitude and sitting on the edge of their collective butts waiting for a few byte string containing a URL :D |

Lots of 'eyes' there - too bad I couldn't tell who everyone was. Lots of echoes, muffled voices - some voices did come through. I recorded it, but you can't understand much of it. Too bad, I would have liked to 'meet' some of you.

The release party was great. Aside from the fact that Romans echo made him sound like he was in a football stadium it was a very interesting speech. Fortunately Bibiana typed it up is Roman was speaking (thanks Bibiana). Well done to everyone at Team Caligari for such a brilliant product.
Here are some screenies I managed to capture whilst I was there.

It would have been impossible anyway, since the backscroll gets cut off after a certain amount of data. You can only go back 'so far'- if the beginning of the chat is before that cutoff point, you're out of luck.
That and if someone enters any text the window jumps back down to the bottom, destroying your ability to scroll back and try to catch up. Very annoying behavior, and something I hope to see fixed in future versions. |

Had no visual or audio of the event, but it read well ;). LOL! While no audio was so-so, I was a bit disappointed to not to be able to get into TruePlace, visual-wise. I was knackered tired too, stayed up till 1:00a.m. to get there for the event and spent 1 hour 40 minutes looking at a grey screen. But the text commentary was well recieved (Thanks, Bib). I finally got in at around 1:40a.m., as everyone was leaving. But got to talk to a few folk there which was nice.
I didn't know t-shirts were given out, I must have totally missed that.
Good event overall though next time we have a big event like this, can we try and put some umph behind the servers if possible (though connecting from the other side of the Atlantic, probably played a part in the slowdown too). |

I counted. Couldn't get the exact number, but it was definately between 62 and 68. |
