The release party was great. Aside from the fact that Romans echo made him sound like he was in a football stadium it was a very interesting speech. Fortunately Bibiana typed it up is Roman was speaking (thanks Bibiana). Well done to everyone at Team Caligari for such a brilliant product.
Here are some screenies I managed to capture whilst I was there.

Image#3 - People mingling

Have posted this in the other release party thread as well, post replies there...just ignore this thread. |

Great post Hemulin!
Wonder if anyone logged a transcript of Roman's speech?

Hi all,
Will likely get this on a web page someplace, but for now here are some photos I took while there. I had severe ISP problems all last night, so was lagged by about 5 minutes even in the text chat :(
Fortunately that doesnt spoil the photos :)
In order, we have the beginning of the event as people turned up; then jayr receiving his prize (he is the one in light blue); finally an overhead view from toward the end of the event.
Thanks to all who came along!

It was a fun event and neat to see all the familiar faces....scratch that.... names that we have come to know. Looking at your screen grabs I see that I arrived with a lime green hat, no wonder people were laughing.
Can I get Bibiana's email address to send her information about the shirt.
Thanks for a fun time.:) |

Who else was surprised when Prodigy gave Steine his t-shirt? I'm guessing everyone, but it's nice to put it out there. |

You can contact bibiana at the imaginatively titled bibiana@caligari.com :)
Congrats to our prize winners!
I was lime green eh? I thought I was supposed to be orange, oh my. Sometimes not having mirrors is useful (though that can change when tP2.0 comes out since real-time mirrors are possible in tS7.5).
HTH!

sorry I missed the party last night; when I tried to start trueplay it crashed on both machines. But I am glad everyone had a good time!
Congratz jayr! And to all the other winners too! :jumpy: |

I had a good time even though I crashed a few times during Roman's speech. I was trying to get sound to work. Finally got it to work later.
I'd like to see a transcript as well if it's available.
Note to self - I have to get a better graphics card. Mine is just too slow to see TP the way it's intended. I have to take it down to Pixels 1.1 in order to move around any faster than a sloth.
Great talking with everyone last night.
We should get a weekly thing going on. Like the IRC used to.

Were you using Vista by any chance? I was speaking to TomG as I was having the same issues with sound and he reckoned there was a Vista issue.
In terms of the software itself it worked well and my only grumbles were the sound not working (apparently that wasn't such a big deal) and the fact that you can't change the size of the chat window split...(you know, 1/2 names, 1/2 chat)
Was cool though. |

No it was a result of either TP or Windows wanting to test to see if my audio card could pick up the mic which didn't make sense since I've used it before on Skype and a few other things. I had to test it in order for it to work, and didn't want to do it while Roman and other people were talking. Then crashed it while trying to get around that.

First time we had the "crash when sound is enabled" was me, when I moved to Vista :)
We have seen few such reports, but they are growing, which seems in line with the growth of Vista as an OS.
At the moment though, the actual cause is not identified (all developers have been on the 7.5 release, and truePlay has had to take a back seat for a bit).
If anyone experiences this - Click Start Voice and you crash out of truePlay - then please email us at tech support, let use know your system specs (as much as you can, including OS, and include memory, graphics card, and even motherboard so we can identify it is maybe sound hardware releated).
Thanks!

Personal Question Tom,
What how do you feel about Vista? I've heard complaints about it.

I got the time conversion all wrong and was to late! so not fair!
Dont Tellme that!! im late too just because i think the time it was from california.. Allways the same thing!!!
Im gonna request again on the main page add a time!! not our local, Just the server time! its easy guys!! why dont do that?? if the Webmaster needs help just contact me plz..
Think this.. First, i must convert the local time to Wednesday May 9th at 8pm Eastern time! When i read, i think obiously i think 8PM Caligari location as allways.. and i miss they change to Eastern Time what is very diferent with PST.. so, maybe for US guys are easy, because you live in US.. but for other guys arround the world we dont have any idea about east central pacific time..for us just give a clear point of reference..
1) theres no url on the Mail to access to the trueplace..
2) Thers No url on the trueplace website to enter on the party..
3) I find because dele post a link on the forum..
4) i enter to try access because i heard many access problems..and i find there all are in the party... Wierd..
So, its soooo easy fix this kind of problems.. Come on!! |
