I have some models I created in TS 66. that I am trying to figure out how to open in TS 7.5. Nothing works so far.

I have tried dragging and dropping from explorer. I have tried creating a library section pointing to that part of my drive but whatever file I click on it throws up an error "load Object: Invalid version: 22048".

Thank you for any help you can throw my way.

Cheers

Doubleclicking an Cob or SCN file opens up TS without opening the scene or the object. Was the case with TS 7.11 and is still the case with TS 7.5. You need to load it from opened TS.

I also have the feeling that this should not be necessary. But that's the way it is. Maybe worth a patch ...

Go to Modeler, enter the menu, and choose File/Load/Object. Or File/Load/Scene when you want to load a scene. Then you should be able to get your stuff into trueSpace 7.5 :)

BUT BE CAREFUL NOT TO SAVE IT THEN AND TRY TO OPEN WITH TS 6.6

TS versions are not compatible. They never was. I still wonder why they even provide a "save as 6.6" , "save as 6", Save as 5" option. It may work. But in most cases it fails.

You will at least loose your texturing that way when you try to open a TS 7/ TS7.5 scene or object in TS 6.6 then. Even when saved as TS 6.6. And when it's multitextured you have lost the UV space. Because it imports with the standard white colour for the whole mesh.
