Wow, what the heck is up with that website? I tried clicking on the link and it said that I needed to install the DivX webplayer thing and then froze my computer. After a restart I tried it again and this time it gave me a download link. So I downloaded the DivX player, installed it, and then it tried to change my browser to firefox. Then when I tried to play the movie it says "channel not found" and it's blank. When I click on the link now I still get the "channel not found".
What's the name of the movie? Maybe I can search for it. |

I went there and the minute I saw the DivX drop down I left.
We're on computers here...if people can't encode there s#!t in a format the default media player can't decode, why bother?
Yeah, I had DivX before, but I'm through loading up proprietary CODECs to do things anymore. DivX: the format that barely caught on, but didn't need to! :rolleyes:
The same thing goes with .rar files - I'm not going to buy a stupid file compressor when I've already paid for one that's already well-integrated into my windows installation. If it's too big for my DSL connection, then it should probably come in the mail on DVD or something anyway. Now my registry is littered with leftovers from that trial. :mad:
So yes, it was an inpiring animation...it inspired me to rant about DivX and .rar! :D |

There is a freeware program called Unzip them all that you can associate rar files with. It works very well, and rar is almost as popular as zip. Dvix is still used for a lot of animations, so it always depends on if you really want to watch that certain video. ;) |

Sorry about your troubles with DivX. I've never had a problem with it.
The animation is protected (apparently very vigorously) by the National Film Board of Canada.
Maybe you can find a format you can watch --> here (http://dekku.blogspot.com/2007/05/chris-landreth-ryan.html) <--.
A poor Google Video can be found --> here (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2221051144364079933&hl=en) <--.
A decent Video can be found --> here (http://4.upload.dailymotion.com/tag/crazy/video/x1x83n_chris-landreth-ryan) <--. |

I use 7-Zip File Manager and it works great plus it is FREE! Works with the RAR files too. |

Thanks EyeInStein, I was able to view it on one of the other links. Still can't view it from the original website though. Something goofy with that website I think. I can view DivX codec movies but that website requires some kind of DivX webviewer.
Anyway, that was an interesting animation. Definitely nice to see something different for a change. Very creative and imaginative. I like that offbeat kind of stuff. It captivates you and makes you think about what is going on. Very cool. :) |
