Since I'm the (relatively) new guy, I'll save all you (relatively) older TS pros the embarrassment of being the first to stick his or her neck out and ask the question that has to be on everyone's mind. Can we get an update on the status of 7.51 with all the new Videos? Perhaps a 'Captain's Blog Special Edition?

Thank You, :jumpy:

Oh, that's right...he said this week and didn't give an exact date...so that means we're supposed to start our frenzy now, right?

WHERE'S 7.51!? You said this week, and it's this week! We - want - true - Space! We - want - true - Space! We - want - true - Space! :D

   A gathering of angry bananas are jumping up and down in protest just outside Caligari's doors.

Yes he did...I'm not trying to rush anyone - just wanted to know how it was going. I'm greatly looking forward to the new manual and videos, but I also understand that it may be a while....as I wrote before, patience is a virtue :)

Well, if it is any consolation, I am quite intrigued about this release. Did I hear mention of some new features in that blog.......??

They'll probably be getting early bird specials until the "last chance pre-release pricing special" is all done.

:p LOL @ Update!

You do realize that soup de jour is extra?

(Splinters slirped his soup during beta testing and got soup all over the keyboard. He was heard to mutter:"It's HAROLD! Harold made me do it....")

No date here to satisfy the feeding frenzy for information - but I can say we are working flat out on this to get it all ready by the deadline. For the last week I've been doing almost nothing but manual, along with many others, the manual has had a lot of work on it.

Starting the frenzy here on the other side of the fence about getting this out to everyone, as it is very exciting to have it released and see what everyone thinks of the new manual and the new featu... err I mean the bug fixes in the release.

Watch this space as they say!

@Tom:

A manual overhaul is a mammoth task indeed. Are you on salary? I sure hope not.

Woah now that is out of control! I think the bananas have hypnotised me and inserted some subliminal message into my subconscious. I guess I will find out what when it is triggered by the secret code word.

As for the manual, it's not just me working on it! We have a whole team of us on it, and I only have two chapters that I am working on, so not such a bad task for one person :) With a great team working so hard, I feel sure we'll have a great manual, quite significantly improved on the last one even though it's only been two or three weeks or so since the last one. Same can be said for the code too, in my opinion. I am certainly impressed with what the devs have done over the last weeks, and I hope you will be too :)

Glad to see you are working on it so hard. Tell the rest of them our thanks as well... One small thing before you finish though. I've noticed a tenancy of the manuals getting toward how to set the parameters for various things, but nothing on how to actually bring those things up except for hints. I love MYST Online, but would rather have an actual thing that said click on the such-and-such tab/icon/view/etc.. rather than just a picture of what it is where I have to guess where it is located and what to click on. :D

Could you let me in on which chapters you've got, I need to scrutinize some one weekly. I chose you for the 7.51 release week. No, No, no thanks necessary.

Send me on everything you know Tom and then forget you ever saw the card.

Raymond: The patrol was taken by a Russian Airborne Unit and flown by helicopter across the Manchurian border to a place called Tomwa. We were worked on for three days by a team of specialists from the Pavlov Institute in Moscow. They developed a technique for descent into the unconscious mind, part light-induced, part drug...

So that's where Tom got his handle it's all true :)

Well, I was the first to step up and imply patience by saying Roman did say this week not necessarily Monday...however, it is Saturday now and I do not remember any weekend releases from Caligari so....any news on the delay?

Or better still..as it must be in late testing by now, any update on what bug fixes and/or new features to expect in this release?

"During this week" usually means "end of current week". As that is usually Sunday. "End of current week" is actually "Monday next week". And as Mondays are busy it usually becomes Tuesday.

And beware of bananas: http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,,-6692247,00.html
