I have a question about the hair feature. I noticed in the monthly gallery there are two examples, both to my opinion look okay but what I wanted to know is why the hairs on both images look sparse (mostly on the top and edges) and dry looking, it almost looks artificial? Is this a feature that can be changed in the plug in?

No plug in there behzad, that is part of the workspace feature set and I am pretty sure Madmouse used the 7.5 fur as opposed to the Vray fur shader.

I can only speak for my hair image (tokyo photo) and that it was a simple test messing with the hair features that I took beyond a simple test and into a 'finalish' image.

Hair has much more potential than that...I am a hair novice ;) and looking at it now I feel like loading the scene up for a little play.

As for Madmouse's image, I think he got the 'wet afro' look pretty good and he does have an individual illustrative style which does not seek photorealism.

Bottom line, I think it looks good for early attempts but it all depends on the artist/designer using it. I have no doubt we will see some amazing hair work in the coming months...:D
