Well, for those of us old enough to remember the great times that went along with the great music of forty years ago, here's a blast from the past! ;)

Forty years ago, today in fact I believe, one of the best songs of the decade burst out over the airwaves for the very first time on hundreds of radio stations across America and Canada early in the morning.

There were so many requests for it to be played that day that it made history, and went on to stay there for a very long time.

Then The Beatles came in and it got pushed to number 2 on the charts, but it remains one of the most rare and great songs of all time.

In honour of the event I made this 3D Model (in TS7.51 rsobj format) of one of the most sought-out items at record stores for months after the release of that particular song... a 45 RPM Record Adapter for turntables. ;)

Along with the object in zip format is the image here (for reference) as well as a very special treat... the song itself (long version) in mp3 format from Napster.

Under the image below is the zipfile - don't forget to listen to it! :D

Enjoy,

Hahahaha! Thanks Frootee!

Actually "groovy" was in use in 1967, it just didn't make it into the mainstream until Hollywood started using it in 1969 or so! I preferred "far out" at the time as I recall. :D

In '69 I used to look a lot like this guy here too:

Yeah, it is a great song... stays in your head too... for decades!
