Hello

I am attempting to rig the fingers of my character and I cant figure out how. Anybody have success with this? I tried adding bones connected to the end of the hand joint leading to the fingers but this was way too messy. So I built seperate skeletons in the fingers. Now I am trying to figure out how to have them move with the hand bone. I tried adding them to the library then placing them in the level of the bone inside the skeleton. The widget shows but the finger bone is invisible. They are visible when I add them to the main level of the project in the link editor but I can't figure out anyway to link them.

Also what is the correct way to link two items in the le without them chenging position? Do they have to be encapsulated or can you use something like the matrix?

Thanks :jumpy:

Hi 3dfrog,

I'm afraid I can't help with any of that stuff since I haven't dabbled with it all yet myself, but I did see a great free offer made here by MR Bones that may help you in this so here's the link:

Hope that helps,

how did you get the bones of the fingers to join to the joint so cleanly? When I click the joint then add bone it breaks it up into some crazy limbs and makes a mess. I will be satisfied if I can get it like yours. Thanks a lot.

Even though it looks messy it still works nice I found. So I am happy with it. But if there is a way to make it look neat like yours I would like to know

i put the view in front mode and then build up: from wrist to knuckle to first joint in the finger to second to end of the finger. Then i click on the wrist joint again and do the same thing with the next finger an so on. If one looks out of place use the 'shape skeleton' tool to adjust the joints and put them in place properly.

thanks. One more question. Now I need bones for the jaw and eyes that will be attached to the head bone. Does anyone know a way to do this? Is there a way to make a child bone that is not attached to the parent by a joint?
