i have spent a lot of years now grumbling about the quality, especially the lack of contrast, in amost every screenshot in ts's printed manual. but this latest manual is a completely different story. at least, what i've seen so far. i'm a big enough dork that i usually find the ts manual best when it is read once cover to cover, playing along in the software during some of the interesting bits, so i've mostly seen the first handful of chapters thus far, but aside from the oddly-worded phrase here and there, seems to be pretty great. and, finally after all these years, the objects in the screenshots can be clearly seen  ... with only the odd exception.

altho, it is just me, or does it seem like the presentation of the UI needs to be "refactored" (or, "normalized", if you prefer) a bit? seems like basic UI functions end up getting re-explained here & there. too, at first i didn't like the "1d" term as it is used to mean something that could have been covered by the standard word "menu" but i guess the symmetry with 2d/3d is enough justification. eh.

anyhow, good job, good job. (by about version 9.5, i should have enough previous manuals to make a modest-sized side table. :)

My only complaint about the printed manual is the lack of "color" illustrations in it...I know color would increase cost, but since TS tends to use color to differentiate many functions, it would have helped greatly in many cases.

Did they reprint for 7.5 or is it the 7 manual you are refering to? I'm probably mistaken but I thought they had moved to pdf only for 7.5 (perhaps that was 7.51) As far as colour goes thats why we have a pdf!
