It used to, but they had an update a month or so back to fix some compatibility issues, but it hasn't fixed them all. None of the threads I have seen have identified what makes the difference, that would be for Apple to know I guess, but for now .mov is not 100% compatible with all Vista machines (as mine can testify :) ) so that's something to keep in mind for anyone making animations.
