Not quite like your examples Alien but nice and cheesy 80's style all the same. Reminds me of those old 8 bit game covers with the 'dodgy' airbrush work...;)
Hmmm - aside from the colour it looks good. Colour-wise I still say his armour's too dark, but that's just my opinion. :) |

And I agree but it is based on the poster image below. I searched for a few and they are that dark...I will lighten it and see what it looks like. |

As for the mouth, I can but I feel that, rather than being the actual actor in these movies, pepe gets the chance to play the part and, as such, is very chuffed indeed...kinda hard to stop a smile in such situations-like winning the lottery. |

Okay, I put my hands up..these are now much less a WIP then finished artworks. I do have roughs to post but I seem to get distracted and before I know it-they are completed. Hell, I've been known to complete a pic between comments.
I promise the next one will be a WIP...one caveat here, these are going to run separate to my books-just in case any brave publisher wanted to do a calendar/gift card etc. So no suggestions about putting Harold or Doris in here...please.
So the comments have dried up but the poll clearly puts the new SDS pepe in front...too late to go back anyway.
Only WIP's here from now on...finished images in the correct section...sorry.:o |

without sounding moronic lol, what is the relevance of the use of the word 'Bone' in these images? I think its perhaps trying too hard lol because most creatures have bones not just pigs, with that said lol these images are really great they just dont stop coming lol, keep it up splinters, especially like the Clockwork Orange one heh heh |

Cripes, I didn't even realise...maybe bone is my 'safe' word...:rolleyes:
Anyways, here is the next one, and it is a WIP, all you have here is a simple model (no textures or details) placed in a photoshop document for testing and a simple font added-about 20-30 mins work in all.
Needs quite a bit more yet and I want to keep this close to the original. I have quite a few of these spoof posters now so I am going to slow down and take more time on them. Fair to say here though, for a cute pig-this image is giving me the creeps already! |

Yeah, I was just thinking about that. Given that you want to keep him on "all-fours", you're going to need more light infront of him to be able to see them properly. |

Alien, I am copying the poster which is not at hand at the moment-just a head/shoulder shot but because pepe is so short and wide I am fading out before the feet for a sense of mystery. |

Glad you like...I am going to enjoy this one.
What worries me is just how far to go with the homage when often the original poster is pretty crap. I can knock a couple of these out a day but I often wonder if I should spend more time on it.
Just had the Hammy Trotter image ripped to shreds on CGtalk for it's modelling and lighting quality-don't those guys have a sense of humour?
Strange, he since edited his post in the light of 'the amount of 'thanks for a good laugh' comments...:D

90% of the critiques I read on the CGsociety forums fall more under personal preference than any thing else. not alot of leeway given for artistic license unless the submission really stands out |

I'm gone for 2 weeks and during that time you produce more images than I do in a decade!
Had a lot of laughs going through everything I've missed! :banana:
Hm, ok, you've slowed down a little bit....or is it just a trick to avoid the inhuman suspicions previously raised? :D
I personally believe that you've filled your basement with your students and are forcing them to work for you...hm, it was a couple of days since hemulins last post...coincidence??? ;) |
