To sum it up, all of them are very well done and inventive, though the "pig mac" version has something to it. Might not be everyone's taste, but I had a good laugh. Jurrasic Pork isn't bad, recognisable yet original. |

They are, of course, just a bit of fun and hardly pushing the limits of tS at all. It has been a while since I did one (many of these were done in tS2) so it will be interesting to see what I can do nowadays.
These are the closest;

Great work!! It's amazing what is possible with truespace and talent. :D
Just one thing, shouldn't this thread be in the Image Gallery subforum, I mean, all we see here is "just" finished work? |

Yes, but I'd also love to look behind the curtain and see how he's doing it. :D |

Sorry guys, my mistake-I am working on some new ones but until I get into my stride I thought I would post some older ones to set the tone-also many of the older ones could do with a revamp nowadays-so feel free to offer ay improvements to what you have seen (the better ones). I will post the WIP when I get started. Whole thing is a WIP really...:D |

I seem to have some competition...bring it on...;)
http://www.nashnet.co.uk/english/softwaregeorge.htm
Ironically, I have done most of these as;
Haminator 2
Hams Bond: The Sow who loved me
P.I.G; Pig In Black
Some of mine date back over six years...lawsuit...no problem. |

Voila...a bit of PS trickery and a quick but effective change.
As you can see this is much more subtle yet effective than the older (more cartoony) ones. Now, what next? |

By the way, the 'Apocalypse Sow' poster was the first time I have ever 'doctored' an existing poster using tS and PS...normally I re-interpret the whole concept in tS but I feel it may be time for a more 'sophisticated' approach to these.
With that in mind, I have been considering for some time, a more organic (SDS) based pepepig for use in these. I have made a start and while it looks ok, it just seems to miss the 'cuteness' of the original.
What do you think? |

I like the SDS version. Except for flat area that shows above the brow and below the cheek. |

Great stuff Paul. It's always fun to see your work. :)
He looks good to me. I do rather like the more "hard edge" nostrils and mouth in the original. On the SDS version they kind of stretch inward. Perhaps if you added some tight loops on the inside and outside to get a more defined edge for the nostrils and mouth. Just a matter of taste really though, he looks good. :)
Edit: I personally kind of like that round mouth better too. It gives him a kind of a funny blank look. |

Damn, this SDS stuff is addictive-reminds me of clay sculpture back at Art School.
Updated model and mesh for those interested-but please don't let this affect your vote...;) ; |

Fear not Graysho, I may just keep the new 'imporked?' pepe for the poster shots and leave the old one in the books. Actually, I have little choice considering how many characters I have produced for that one book range-not to mention 13 full books that would need re-illustrating...doesn't bear thinking about.
Later I will try the new SDS model in an old poster scene-see what it looks like-I kinda like the new fella. Cheers for the support either way...:D |

For anyone wanting their say, this is just about as far as I want to go with the SDS for now (i.e. today). I kinda like it-maybe it has lost some of the 'cuteness' of the old one but that is maybe 8 years old or more...surely it's time for an update. Poster pose later...see, I told you it was a WIP.
Now...if I can just get that scared look off his face. |

great character, he definatly looks better like this, hmm i guess i was oblivious to whether he was cute looking, i always saw the parody in that it was a pig as th emain star, so i dont think doing this will effect the comedy value of your images, if anything it will far improve them because there is more realism (atleast in the shading heh) keep up the good work this is a great project and i think you ought to set a website up for it and maybe work on an animation like Keanu Ribs stars in The Hamtrix or something and you should get me to help!!! lol j/k about last part...or am i! lol |

You wanna help be my guest. However, be warned that I am considering the following;
A Pig's Life
Donnie Porko
Pig Momma's House
Finding pepe
Hamerican Pie
And Star Wars;
A New Pork
The Hampire Strikes Back
Return of the pepe
The Gammon Menace
Attack of the Bones (done?)
Revenge of the Pig
Dear...oh dear...thank god I am on vacation-otherwise how the hell could I justify spending time on these...;)
P.S As a start to your assistance Matski, I am nicking your Hamtrix idea...I like this, but what about Laurence Pigburne and Carrie Ham Moss..and the Wachopski Bros?
Really...must....stop...... |
