Hello
Just wondering if anyone has interest in the thursday night chat in trueplay. I'll go there tonight if anyone wants to stop by. I think the regular times for it are 7 pst and 10 est. If I am wrong about the time let me know. |

I might try it... I have TS7.51, but every time I go into trueplay, no one is there, and I don't know how to look for "rooms" |

Kena,
When you go in, find the stairs (I'm assuming you're in the Gallery?) go up the stairs and find the 'menu' for other rooms - they're pictures you click on. If you come in at the Forum space, just turn around and you will see the 'menu' - it's pretty much the same in other rooms, you have to find the series of pictures for other rooms just click (or double click) and off you go.
Hope this helps, I'll try and see if I can remember to be there at 10:00 est

Yes, from the forum space there is a navigation thing and on it you'll see one that says thursday night chat. Go to that one. I wish there was some kind of listing of spaces with what users are there that we could access. |

I asked about meetings weeks ago when 7.5 came out but no one seemed interested http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=3124
so I gave up seeing if people were goimg:rolleyes: |

Yup, I think that's probably the Forum - the 'menu' I was writing about is in front of the big wall - there's a kind of 'display' that has pictures of the different rooms on it, click on where you want to go. I'm now thinking that the 'display' should be double-sided, it would save confusion (any Caligari people reading this?)
I'm writing all this from memory, so it may be a little off - if you are standing in front of the 'big wall' (facing it), turn around, walk straight , and you'll bump into the back of the 'display'

Oops, the Renderosity Gallery doesn't look like it has a way to access other TP rooms - oh yeah...I definitely got that wrong before - you come into the Forum facing that 'menu'...OK, I'm going to quit while I'm behind (:o ) and let someone else who actually knows what they're doing take over.

I can't enter trueplace for some reason. :(
Just getting an error message, saying that I've used a bad login name or password. What login name am I supposed to write? |

I'm not sure. I think I made my name and password when I installed trueplace. Maybe you can make a new account? Someone should know I think. |

Use the same user name and pw as you do when you downloaded TS 7.51 or any other version. |

That happened to me, too, and it was right after I got TS 7.51. All I had to do was uninstall and redownload it from the TruePlay page on the Caligari site. When I tried to get back in after that, it worked fine. I don't really know what all happens in the Thursday night chat, so I'll check it out...

Me and truespaced hung out for an hour and chatted. We are gonna try again next week and hopefully more people will come. A few people popped in before chat time but they were in and out so fast I didn't even get to say hi to them :(
I have no idea how to change the avatar's color. |

Lol, ya, when I got TruePlay at first I had a hard time moving around too... If you right-click anywhere on the screen, you'll drop to the ground and will be able to walk around using the WASD keys, the mouse to look around, and the spacebar to jump (like any FPS computer video game). To get out of it, you just right click again, then you have your mouse back, and you can chat with other people (if there's anyone there), and click on gallery pictures, different rooms, etc. Ya, that was fun last night; hopefully there's a better turn out next week, though! :D

It seems it is possible that one of two servers is available for use.
Those with ts7.51 would go to one server and those with truePlay another.
I was using ts7.51 on that respective server. Chris showed up for awhile and we chatted a bit and were point editing. BTW Chris, I deleted those two cylinders you were working on and was able to point edit ok afterwards. It is possible some bad geometry was involved and could be reason we both crashed trueSpace. |

Oh, i didn't realize that norm. Would people prefer to chat in truespace or trueplay? Truespace is cool because we can show each other stuff, but trueplay, even people without 7.51 can join in. When I first installed trueplay I didn't have truespace 7.5, and a tech support guy from caligari was there, we had a nice conversation and he showed me some cool things, he really got me into it and it helped my decision to get it. |

Thx Norm! Enjoyed the chat while it lasted. After the second time you popped out ( crash, I assume ) My computer started bogging down and I had to leave. TS tends to eat up my resources.
I figured that after leaving what I'd done would go away. I guess not? From what I'm getting, if you create something in the chat room it will stay there? |

It seems that the TS 7.51 version of the chatroom crashes more than the TruePlay version; is this true?

Hello
Thursday night chat again. I'm gonna access through truespace 7.51. So use your truespace to access that server if you'd like to chat.
If you plan on coming by leave a note here. It is at 7 pm pst and 10 pm est. |

On the bottom right there is an icon to enter shared space. I think it has the eye-men on it. Just click that, enter your user name and password and walla |

Okay, TrueSpace finally crashed... Do I have to be in Workspace to do it? Last time I tried it from the model side, and that could have been the problem.... I'll try now....
