How do I create a new account without redownloading TruePlay?

i dont know how to create a new account. You may not be waiting long enough, this is from the manual:
Depending on the current size of portal content and your Internet connection speed, the initial download could take several minutes. You can see the progress in the bottom line of the Chat panel, and the downloaded objects will appear progressively one by one, as soon as each is downloaded . When you are connected and ready, the status line will show “Ready.” Other participants will see your status, too. Even though network transfer uses compression, please use small objects if possible. Textures and materials take most of the size. Thus objects with simple materials are the best candidates. Currently the only room available where objects can be added is in the Thursday Night Chat , you can enter there by clicking on the icon in the link Bar shown above. More areas will be added later . |

K... It doesn't show a loading bar; it just says connecting... I'll try waiting longer though...

STILL CONNECTING!!! After like 5-10 minutes..... My internet connection isn't bad, and this computer isn't too bad either; I have no idea where the problem is.... I was able to get into TruePlay just fine, I just can't get in through TrueSpace......

were you able to get in? the 7.51 manual is in pdf format. Download the manual installer from your caligari order page, then you can click the manual icon in the lower right toolbar of workspace and it will open the pdf |

I can't get into any of the rooms; I click them and it doesn't do anything. Someone on dial-up got in the second they clicked it, so it isn't my internet connection (high speed cable)...

trueSpace 7.51 is needed to get into the space. truePlay goes into a diff server.
btw: if you don't have ts7.51, you could dl the trial and get in with it :) |

Just had my first trip to the TNC server and it's definitely a cool idea.
However, TS keeps crashing when I try to create a box for modeling. Is this a known issue? |

I could get in through TruePlay just fine, then eventually I could get into TrueSpace 7.5 just fine.
I was at the main entrance (the "BBQ area"), and I was clicking on the Thursday Night Chat, and it kept on just selecting the panel as if it were an object.
I tried getting into other rooms, too and it didn't work...
I'm going to try to see if I can get in now....
How was the chat btw?

Still didn't work... Oh, and btw, somebody deleted the ground in the main entrance place (at least it wasn't there on my screen).

It was a pretty good chat night. First for a while it was norm and stan and me online. Then it was Benji and me. Then it was professorkhaos under the name nightflight and frootee and me. We had a good time. Someone suggested we have group projects in there on Thursdays. What do you folks think?
Truespaced, were you trying to access with your laptop or desktop? maybe the objects in the rooms were too much for your laptop to handle over the internet. Try on your desktop and see if it works ok? |

a group project sounds like a good idea. I may have to only watch and offer suggestions though. Norm indicated bones cause problems but I think I have issues with non-boned stuff too. I'll test it to see.

where were you spacekdet? you use trueplay to access shared space? it's not going to the same server as ts7.51
think Truespaced has some issue that won't let him in..he tried selecting the thursday night chat button, but his avatar would select all buttons at once:confused:
I didn't stay in there because they were playing with rigged characters which seem to need lots of memory or kb's so I lagged behind right away..:rolleyes: 56l modem powered |

Hey Stan. sorry I missed you. I got in kinda late. I was trying to use a rigged character but ts crashed. It's been awhile since I've even tried chatting on THursday nights. Hope to see you at the next one!

Your capitalization regime has a flaw... it should be bedSpace.

Haha, nice Steinie!
TruePlay seems to work better for me and I don't know why...
The ground is still missing in the TrueSpace version of TruePlay; anyone know how to fix it? And can someone else get in and see if the ground is missing on their screen too please?

There is nothing stopping truePlay and trueSpace7.11 users from having a meeting on one server and those with trueSpace7.51 having a meeting on the other server. There is also nothing stopping folks from setting up or organizing meetings, or indeed just visiting the servers as they desire. The time zone for the current Thursday nite chat is restrictive for those who are unable to attend. The main point to remember is that both servers are available 24/7 for you to enjoy.
At some point in the future, a new truePlay version will be released so folks can visit the trueSpace7.51 meeting with that new version of truePlay. I did suggest yesterday that the trial version of trueSpace7.51 was available for download, so for those who wish to participate on that server, just download the trial and join in. |
